Virgin Paper Workshop

Open to Doctoral Candidates, Early Career Researchers

in Management and Organization Studies

We are now accepting draft papers for ANZAM’s Inaugural Virgin Paper Workshop. The workshop will run from 10.00amto 3.30pm on Wednesday 30 May 2012at AUT Business School in Auckland City. Each participant will need to submit a draft paper and be prepared to pre-read and comment on three other draft papers during the workshop. Experienced facilitators will provide commentary on each of the four papers at their table, moderate the discussion, and offer a summary of recommended changes. Approximately 40 minutes will be given to discussing each paper. Participants will also benefit from participating in the discussion around others’ papers, and an exercise dedicated to crafting a great abstract to sell their paper.

Maria Humphries, Associate Professor Strategy and Human Resource Management, University of Waikato, with expertise in critical management studies, the contribution of indigenous knowledge to management studies, and the organisation and management of the community/not-for-profit/NGO sector,qualitative methods;ANZAM Research Fellow

Kate Kearins, Professor of Management and Associate Dean Research – Business and Law, Auckland University of Technology, with expertise in business and sustainability, enterprise and environmental strategy, case research, discourse and narrative analysis; ANZAM Board Member

Fees include morning tea on arrival and lunch:

  • ANZAM members: Free
  • Non ANZAM participants: $AU42 student; $AU84 academic, includes free ANZAM membership for rest of 2012, access to Journal of Management & Organization,and other member benefits

We are doing rolling acceptance, so earlier submission and, if applicable, payment of the workshop fee on acceptance, is encouraged as places are limited to enhance the overall quality of the event.
