OPEN POSITION:P&IC COORDINATOR

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Materials Manager, plans, organizes, evaluates, and controls functions of inventory, production scheduling/orders, create nesting programs and purchasing.

Job Duties:

The role of P&IC Coordinator will exhibit behavior that contributes toward an environment that encourages teambuilding, decision making, problem solving and continuous improvement while effectively fulfilling the following duties to meet Company’s expectations:

•Operates computer to lay out graphic display of parts to be machined in optimum arrangement and generate control media for numerical-control drilling, routing, and cutting machines: Reviews shop orders to determine job specifications and nesting requirements.

•Create programs in Pro-Nest and Bar-Nest for sector and saw operations, including program for shaft nesting.

•Sorts shop orders into groups according to compatibility factors, such as quantity and shape of parts, and type, size, alloy, and gauge of material to be machined to produce nest that maximizes material utilization and minimizes machine setup and operation.

•Enters computer commands to retrieve stored parts data and graphic displays, such as simulated patterns or templates, and displays and manipulates part images on computer screen into optimum arrangement.

•Enters commands to title and store nest layouts in computer memory and to build and maintain source files.

•Follow processes and procedures for entering, maintaining and coordinating work order releases.

•Attend daily production meetings to review schedule, identify and resolve any production issues that would affect customer orders.

•Vetting of MRP-generated production orders.

•Plan production routing, sequencing and methods.

•Executing planned production orders.

•Prints, organizes, labels and delivers shop work orders to shop floor.

•Tactical/MRO buying when needed.

•Perform P&IC Clerk duties as needed.

•Resolve and adjust problems requiring assistance related to stopping production orders, defective material, scrap, rejects and bill of material level reduction.

•Make suggestions to use up stock created from cancelled orders or material substitutions; comparing BOM’s and creating discrete jobs for rework.

•Coordinate and interfere with sales, operations, engineers and customers as necessary.

•Research and resolve inventory discrepancies including, but not limited to: researching customer claims, cycle count for missing product, adjust inventory quantities, print labels, handle damaged inventory, disposing of inventory.

•Communicate with all levels of company personnel.

•Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

•Adhere to company Ethics and Environmental Programs, State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs and adhere to ISO 9001 Standards.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

•A bachelor’s degree in operations management, supply chain or related field required or equivalent experience.

•1+ years production scheduling or planning experience in manufacturing environment preferred

•Ability to display strong interpersonal skills.

•Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•Computer literate including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and ERP systems.

•Resourceful, highly organized with an attention to detail; Ability to balance multiple tasks
