Dear Candidate,

I amwriting inrelationtoyour intentiontostandintheMay2016PoliceandCrime Commissioner (PCC)election in Staffordshire, inmyroleasChiefof StaffoftheOfficeofthePCC (OPCC).

TheRoleof theOfficeof thePoliceand CrimeCommissioner

TheOfficeofthePoliceandCrimeCommissionerconsists of myself, astatutoryChief FinanceOfficerandasmall teamof officers.Wearepoliticallyrestrictedstaffandhavea similar roletothatofthecivil serviceinrelationtoGovernment. Weare appointedtoassistwhoever is electedPCC inStaffordshiretodelivertheirmanifesto.Weare alsocommittedtomaking informationabout theroleof the OPCC andStaffordshire Police availabletoall candidates onanequal basis duringtherunuptothePCC elections.

Information Requests

Shouldyouhaveanyquestions aboutpolicing, crimeoranyrelatedissues thatarenot answeredinpubliclyavailable materials, pleaseput your request inwriting or via email to that theofficecanassist.

All suchrequestswill betreatedasanonymous but answers to questions and requests for data, will be shared with other candidates to ensuretransparency. Candidates will be able to find this information and any requested dataon the PCC Election 2016 page availablevia

I wouldask that,wherepossible,requests areput inwritingratherthanoverthephoneso that we maymanagerequests appropriatelywithintheteam, provideyouwiththe most accurateresponseandensurethat informationis sharedfairlywithall candidates.

I haveadvisedtheChiefConstablethat her officers shouldreferanysuchrequestsfrom candidatestome inthesamewaysothat wemaytreatall candidatesfairly.

Candidates can also contact me to arrange access for photos, for example next to the logo of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner in Staffordshire, located on walls in the OPCC offices.
