Open Auditions to be Held for “Rapunzel” at Weinberg Center

FREDERICK, Md., Monday, October 17,2016—As previously announced, Missoula Children’s Theatre will bring itsoriginal musicalRapunzel to the Weinberg Center for the Arts in late October. Representing the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, the troupe will arrive in Frederick on Monday, October 24 to hold open auditions,casting 50-60 local students to perform in the production. The show will be rehearsed throughout the week and a final, public performance will take place on Saturday, October 29 at 3:00pm.

Auditions will be held from 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Monday, October 24 at the Weinberg Center. No advance preparation or reservation is necessary. Local students ages 6-18 are encouraged to audition. Those auditioning should arrive at 3:30pm and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members may be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.

Most students who are cast will rehearse approximately 4.5 hours each day, October 24-28, after school. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, everyone who auditions must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. Cast members scheduled for the full 4.5 hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a lunch, dinner, or snack.
