OPEN AND INTERMEDIATE AREA HORSE TRIALS AT ROLLESTON PARK 30TH JULY

The Belvoir had another great day at the area horse trials, held again by the Fernie.

We enjoyed the wonderful parkland at Rolleston Hall and some beautiful summer sunshine.

The jumping phases were very testing and there was some polished and determined riding. We are very lucky to have Caroline Moore as our trainer, who, not onlyprepares them thoroughly, but alsogave up her day to be with youthroughout.

The Open team of, Marianne Knipe, Flora Young, Rachel Poyser and Frederick Henderson did really well to be 3rd and have qualified for the Championships at Draycott.

Marianne was 6thin her section and Flora was a very credible 3rd.

Annabel Henderson showed how todo it and was 3rd inher section making her a qualifier also.

The Intermediates were hugely improved from last year. Our team of HattyConey, Annabel Grocock, Amelia Scholl and Mollie Summerland ended up with an amazing 2nd place and will go forward to the championships. Mollie won her section, with a superb double clear. Amelia also had a good day to end up 3rd. Annabel Grocock was 6th and Hatty 8th, also ending on her dressage score. Alice Tollemache had another good area, to end up 5th in her section and there were some personal bests within the rest.

A special mention to Sam Van Doorn, who won the Faye Cree award for the most "sporting senior" She has worked hard on her pony through the year and secured a good score.

Well done to you all for all sorts of reasons and best of luck to those going forward to the championships.

From my point of view, thank you for being such fun to be and putting on your smiles, when it is sometimes really hard.
