BOARD MEETING

President Henry Leeck called the meeting of the Opdyke-Belle Rive CCSD #5 Board of Education to order June 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Opdyke-Belle Rive CCSD #5 Board Room.

The roll being called, the following answered present: Henry Leeck, Shawn Poole, Greg Piercy, Lisa Irvin, Sylvester Lisk and Miss Houseworth. Absent: Jeremy Hamson. Also present: Superintendent Debra Blakey and Administrative Secretary Elizabeth Bernard. Visitors present: Ronald Hawkins, Shirley Hawkins, Charity Hawkins, Diana Sherman and Janet Dickey.

  1. Motion byLisa Irvin, seconded by Miss Houseworthto approve the Consent Agenda. Rollcall, sixayes. Greg Piercy, Shawn Poole, Miss Houseworth, Lisa Irvin, Sylvester Lisk and Henry Leeck.

Approve Updated Bills—No Action

Visitor Communication--Diana Sherman. Shirley Hawkin’s communication moved to closed session.

  1. Motion by Greg Piercy, seconded by Sylvester Lisk to accept the 2013-14 Amended Budget as presented. Roll call, six ayes. Shawn Poole, Greg Piercy, Lisa Irvin, Sylvester Lisk, Miss Houseworth and Henry Leeck.

Opening of Bids

  1. Motion by Miss Houseworth, seconded by Shawn Poole to accept the bid from Flo Gas for LP for the 2014-15 School Year. Roll call, six ayes. Miss Houseworth, Greg Piercy, Sylvester Lisk, Shawn Poole, Lisa Irvin and Henry Leeck.
  1. Motion by Lisa Irvin, seconded by Miss Houseworth to accept the bid from Gateway, FS, for Diesel for the 2014-15 School Year. Roll call, six ayes. Shawn Poole, Lisa Irvin, Miss Houseworth, Greg Piercy, Sylvester Lisk and Henry Leeck.
  1. Motion by Shawn Poole, seconded by Lisa Irvin to accept the bid from Prairie Farms for milk products for the 2014-15 School Year. Roll call, six ayes. Sylvester Lisk, Miss Houseworth, Greg Piercy, Shawn Poole, Lisa Irvin and Henry Leeck.
  1. Motion by Lisa Irvin, seconded by Greg Piercy to set the dates, time and location for the 2014-15 Opdyke-Belle Rive CCSD #5 Board of Education meetings on the 3rd Monday of each Monday with exceptions as presented. Roll call, six ayes.
  1. Motion by Miss Houseworth, seconded by Shawn Poole to accept the Road Hazard Resolution for the 2014-15 School Year. Roll call, six ayes.

  1. Motion byShawn Poole, seconded by Miss Houseworthto go into Executive Session at6:20p.m. to discuss possible appointment, employment, personnel, compensation, academic, discipline, performance, dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, 5 ILCS 120/(1). Roll call, six ayes. Greg Piercy, Shawn Poole, Henry Leeck, Miss Houseworth, Lisa Irvin and Sylvester Lisk.
  1. Motion by Miss Houseworth, seconded by Shawn Pooleto come out of Executive Session at 7:46 p.m. Roll call, six ayes. Shawn Poole, Henry Leeck, Greg Piercy, Miss Houseworth, Lisa Irvin andSylvester Lisk. No Action.
  1. Motion by Greg Piercy, seconded by Sylvester Lisk to hire Janet Dickey as a Special Education Teacher for the 2014-15 School Year. Roll call, six ayes. Sylvester Lisk, Greg Piercy, Lisa Irvin, Shawn Poole, Miss Houseworth and Henry Leeck.
  1. Motion by Shawn Poole, seconded by Miss Houseworth to hire Kelly Sullivan as an Aide for the 2014-15 School Year Roll call, six ayes. Sylvester Lisk, Lisa Irvin, Greg Piercy, Miss Houseworth, Shawn Poole and Henry Leeck.
  1. Motion by Lisa Irvin, seconded by Greg Piercy to accept the recommendation for the Annual Title I Plan. Roll call, six ayes. Shawn Poole, Henry Leeck, Greg Piercy, Sylvester Lisk, Miss Houseworth and Lisa Irvin.
