Program Staff for
Step Into Kindergarten-a one week transition to school program
available in Lanark County Elementary Schools
Contracts are between one and five weeks in five communities across Lanark County
20 hours per week
$18.00 per hour
The program is designed to give children the opportunity to experience classroom routines and to make friends before starting school in the fall.
Position Summary:
Program staff will organize and implement transition to school programming with a group of children in a local school, connecting parents to other parents and families to community resources.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 2 years post secondary education including Early Childhood Educator, Educational Assistant, or Kindergarten Teacher
· Knowledge of child development
· Good organization skills
· Good written and oral communication skills
· Experience working with pre-school children 3-5 years of age
· Ability to work individually and as a team
· Valid Ontario Driver’s License
· Reliable vehicle
· Current criminal reference check
Responsibilities
Responsible for delivery of transition to school programming for children entering junior kindergarten
Training session will be June 17, 2010 from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the OEYC office in Smiths Falls.
