One year ago, after college graduation, Maggie Brown left the great state of Michigan and settled in the hustle and bustle of beautiful Pittsburgh, PA to start her career with the PNC Bank. There she met Chrissy Jahaj, a Pittsburgh native and PITT Alumni **LET’S GO PITT!**

The two hit it off, became great friends, and together decided that January 2011 was going to be the start of a new and healthy lifestyle! Conveniently for the girls, right across the street from their office was just the place to start their venture, the PNC YMCA!

Here is their story.

“In early January 2011, Maggie and I made a pact to get healthy together. We decided to start a rigorous dieting and exercise routine. Although neither of us were ever morning people, we knew that the best way to fit exercise into our busy schedules was to go before work. We went to our first morning Spin class with Todd on January 10th and we never looked back. Five months later, we are still going strong. Our favorite classes include Thursday night BOSU, Tuesday night Turbo, Tuesday and Thursday night Core & More, and the morning Spin classes. We also just started the RUCKUS training class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Everyone – staff and members – at the PNC YMCA are so friendly and encouraging. It is easy to squeeze the gym into your schedule when you genuinely enjoy going. To date, Maggie has lost 30 pounds and 3 dress sizes and I have lost 35 pounds and 4 dress sizes. We both still have a ways to go before we reach our goals – but we know we can do it with the help of our friends here at the Y. We want everyone to know that if we can do it, you can too! Our new love for fitness has inspired us to challenge ourselves like never before. Between the two of us, we are currently signed up to run in the RUCKUS race, bike in the Tour de Cure, and Maggie is even training for the triathlon (Baierl Family Y) August 7th.

We really do love the PNC Y. We have both had other gym memberships before, but we have never ever been to a gym like the Y. We tell Katharine (Rummel) about it all the time, everyone at the PNC Y is amazing - from the front desk staff, to the instructors, and all of the other members.” – Chrissy Jahaj

The PNC Y would like to congratulate both Chrissy and Maggie for their success. They are living proof that with time and effort change is possible! Thank you girls for sharing your

Y Story, we hope this can be inspiration for many! YOU 2 ROCK!
