  • ONE PAK TRAINED HUJI TERRORIST ARRESTED
  • PLANS TO CAUSE EXPLOSION IN THE CAPITAL FOILED

The team of Special Cell led by Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma under the supervision of Shri Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, ACP has apprehended one Pak trained HUJI militant namely Mohd Iqbal @ Abdur Rehman from New Delhi Railway Station, Pahar Ganj, New Delhi. The arrested militant had been sent to Delhi by top commanders of HUJI with the nefarious task of causing bomb blast in the capital. During the follow up action, large quantity of explosive material was recovered.

Interrogation of previously apprehended terrorists and other sources revealed that the Pak based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Tayyeba (LeT) in league with Bangladeshi terrorist outfit Harkat Ul Jehadi Islami (HUJI ) had jointly committed many terrorist activities in India in the recent past. An information was received from Central Intelligence Agency that Qamar @ Nata, Commander of HUJI in Bangladesh is planning to send some trained terrorists of HUJI in India for causing blasts in the crowded places in Delhi. In order to develop this information and to thwart the terrorist attack in Delhi sources were deployed, in Delhi, border areas of West Bengal and technical surveillance was also mounted.

On 21.05.2008, specific information was received that a HUJI militant with code name Abdur Rehman has entered into India through Indo-Bangladesh border and would arrive in Delhi. Accordingly, a trap was laid on at New Delhi Railway Station, Pahar Ganj, New Delhi and Mohd Iqbal @ Abdur Rehman (Aged 31 yrs) r/o Muzaffarnagar, UP was apprehended During follow up action, around Three Kgs of RDX, one timer and five electronic detonators were recovered from D-block in Janakpuri, Delhi. A case under the appropriate sections of law was registered at PS Special Cell, Lodhi Colony, New Delhi. Mohd Iqbal @ Abdur Rehman is also wanted in case FIR No. 59/07 u/s 121/121A/122/123/120B IPC, 4/5 Explosive Substances Act, 17/18/20/21/23 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, PS Special Cell, Lodhi Colony, Delhi.

During sustained interrogation, Mohd Iqbal @ Abdur Rehman disclosed that in the year 2002, he came in contact with Jalaluddin @ Hamid @ Babu Bhai r/o West Bengal, who motivated him to join militancy. In October 2002, he along with Jalaluddin @ Hamid went to Bangladesh and from there visited Pakistan on a Bangladeshi passport. In Pakistan, he was imparted three months special training called Daura-e-Khas by ISI in Sindh, Pakistan . He was specially trained in the handling of AK-47, China LMG, TT pistol, Rocket Launcher, Grenade, Sniper rifle, SLR and use of P-3, TNT, RDX for making Improvised explosive device (IED), with timer and detonator. He was also given the training of making petrol bombs and other time bombs with the help of watches. After completion of his training in Pakistan, he arrived in Bangladesh. There Qamar @ Nata, Commander of HUJI tasked him to carryout terrorist activities in various parts of India and also to motivate youths for militancy. He arrived in India and started motivating people for militancy. He motivated Naushad r/o Bijnaur, UP for militancy and took him to Kolkata and handed over to Babu Bhai for training in Pakistan. During this period, Iqbal @ Abdur Rehman worked as Maulana in different Masjids of Western UP and Delhi.

In August/September 2005, on the directions of HUJI militant Qamar @ Nata, he shifted his base from Muzaffarnagar UP to Delhi and worked as a Maulana in a Masajid at Sitapuri Colony, Dabri, Delhi. He started providing safe hideout to HUJI militants in Delhi. Hamid @ Babu Bhai and Qamar @ Nata visited him in Masjid, Sitapuri Colony, Dabri, Delhi several times and also stayed with him. Babu Bhai also discussed about the safe delivery of explosive in Delhi for terrorist activities. During Jan/Feb 07, Qamar @ Nata handed over him a consignment of explosive material for terrorist activities in Delhi. He kept this consignment in safe custody for causing terrorist activities in Delhi. Meanwhile Babu Bhai along with Naushad and others were arrested in Uttar Pradesh and the plan to cause terrorist activity in Delhi could not materialize. After the arrest of Babu Bhai and Naushad, Iqbal @ Abdur Rehman buried the consignment of explosive material in a open space in D-block, Janakpuri, Delhi area and left Delhi. After that he went underground and shifted his hideout to various places in Western UP as police was looking for him. During this period he contacted Qamar @ Nata, who, however directed him to stay in UP and to receive one terrorist Shabbir Ahmad @ Raju. He was further directed to cause terrorist activities with Shabbir @ Raju. But Shabbir @ Raju was arrested in Delhi with the consignment of explosive. During the month of September/October 2007, Qamar @ Nata directed him to come to Bangladesh as Jalalluddin @ Babu Bhai, Naushad and other associates were arrested by police. He escaped to Bangladesh after illegally crossing the Indo-Bangla border from Murshidabad. In Bangladesh, Mohd Iqbal @ Abdur Rehman was received by Qamar @ Nata and he managed his stay at Dhaka. He stayed there for few months and in the beginning of May 2008, he was again specially trained in making of IEDs and bombs for blasts. Finally Qamar @ Nata tasked him to use the buried explosive material for causing blasts in Delhi. He was also instructed to take help of other Pak trained terrorist Haaris r/o Muzaffarnagar in this plan.

Accordingly on the directions of Qamar @ Nata, he crossed Indo-Bangladesh border and reached Delhi to carryout terrorist activities.

Burglars busted by East District Police.

Introduction

On 18.5.08, the East Distt. Police apprehended burglars namely Ravinder @ Lal Bihari s/o Vishnu Dev Kevat r/o Village - Munshi Pen P.S. Badh District Patna ( Bihar) age 21 years and Ranjeet s/o Siya Ram Village Shadipur P.S. Manner District- Patna ( Bihar) age 21 years presently both residing at House of Vinod Gali No.1, Radha Vihar, Mukundpur Delhi.

Incident

On 18.5.08 under the close supervision of Inspr. Ashwani Kumar Jaswal SHO/Pandav Nagar a team comprising of SI Ajab Singh, HC Pawan Kumar, Ct. Jugnu Tyagi, Ct. Ram Kumar, Ct. Rajesh, Ct. Satender and Ct. Shiv Dutt were deputed for vehicle checking near Subway NH-24. At about 2.30 Hrs, two above named accused persons coming from M.V.-II through SanjayLake, were checked by above team. During their personal search one house breaking iron rod and some stolen Golden Ornaments were recovered from their possession.

Interrogation

On sustained interrogation the apprehended above burglars disclosed committing commission of four cases of house theft and burglary in the area of P.S.Pandav Nagar. It was also revealed that accused person were recently released from Gurgoan jail in case FIR No. 736/06 U/s 399/402 IPC P.S.Udhyog Vihar Gurgoan (Haryana). The following cases have been worked out.

1. Case FIR No. 103/08 dated 24.3.08 u/s 380 IPC P.S.Pandav Nagar

2. Case FIR No. 108/08 dated 29.3.08 u/s 380 IPC P.S.Pandav Nagar

3. Case FIR No. 130/08 dated 18.4.08 u/s 380 IPC P.S.Pandav Nagar

4. Case FIR No. 132/08 dated 19.4.08 u/s 454/380 IPC P.S.Pandav Nagar

The receiver of stolen property namely Laxmi Kant s/o Santosh Mehto R/o 251 Naharpur Village Rohini Delhi has also been arrested vide case FIR No. 108/08 dated 29.3.08 u/s 380 IPC P.S.Pandav Nagar and Case FIR No. 132 /08 dated 19.4.08 u/s 454/380 IPC P.S.Pandav Nagar on the instance of above said arrested burglars.

Recovery

Gold Jewellery weighing about 35 grams and Silver jewellery weighing about 300 grams have been recovered from accused persons.
