2015 Grant Application Requirements & Minimum Criteria Grant Consideration

Our mission: One Hundred Shares – Dallas, Inc. (OHS) was formed to support the work of Christian non-profit organizations in the Dallas area that serves “the least of these” and shares the gospel. Annually, a total of $100,000 will be awarded to a non-profit organization(s) that will use the proceeds to expand an existing program or establish a new initiative or project.

Your Mission: The OHS-Dallas Board will examine the match between the mission and of each grant applicant and the mission of OHS-Dallas (above) to evaluate each organization and make our selection(s). Please read our mission carefully.

Tax Exemption: The grant applicant must have been in possession of a 501 (c) (3) Internal Revenue Service Exemption letter for two (2) years prior to the time of the application.

Grant Restrictions: The grant applicant may not be a church. Proposals to fund advertising and marketing of the organization and non-program salaries may not exceed 20% of the grant request amount. Endowments will not be considered. Once a grant application is submitted, the applicant is not allowed to make revisions of any kind. Proposals: Grant applicants must provide a completed application that responds to each of the items featured on the OHS Grant Application. This proposal must be transmitted by midnight on September 1st of the current year, which is the deadline established by the OHS Board of Trustees.

Grant Applicant’s Board of Directors: Grant applicants are required to submit the names of their Board Members, but no minimum number is required for consideration. At least one (1) Board Member must be present for an OHS site visit.

Applicant Presentations: Semi-finalists must make a five (5) minute presentation at the Fall OHS Partners Tea event in the Fall of 2014. The grant recipient must make a five to ten (5-10) minute presentation at the OHS Partners award luncheon event in 2015. Site Visits: After review of the grant applications, site visits will be arranged with those selected as semi-finalists by the OHS Board. See below for dates.

Notifications: All applicants will be notified of their status by October 31st, 2014. Notification to semi-finalists not selected as finalists will be made by April 15th, 2015. Please see the end of the application for the complete schedule and submittal process.

Progress Reports: The recipient(s) of the OHS Grant is required to send two (2) progress reports to the OHS Board within the 12 months after the grant is awarded. The first is due September 30th, 2015 and the second report on January 15th, 2016. Reports must be sent to

Submittal Process:

Please do not submit files with names like “OHS project budget” or “OHS Application.” Rather, use “GospelDallas project budget” or “FeedDallas OHS application.”

All required application materials must be submitted via Dropbox.com. To do this:

1)  Create an account (free) on dropbox.com.

2)  Start a new folder – the name of the folder must be some version of the name of your ministry (a nickname or acronym is fine – just don’t label it One Hundred Shares or OHS application – the folder and all files need to have your name on it).

3)  In your list of folder, next to the folder name, you will see a symbol for a link that looks like a chain

4)  Click on the link symbol

5)  A box will pop up that says “Share Link to “ with the name of your folder in it

6)  Enter email address: and press “send”

Grant Selection Calendar

1.  Grant application (electronic copy) must be submitted by September 1st, 2014.

2.  OHS Board will select and notify semi-finalists by October 31st, 2014.

3.  Semi-finalists present at the OHS Fall Partners event 2014.

4.  Site visits of the semi-finalists will be conducted in February and March, 2015.

5.  Grant award(s) will be announced in April, 2015 at the Spring OHS Partners award luncheon. Funds will be distributed at the event.

6.  Recipient’s progress reports are due September 30th, 2015 and January 15th, 2016.
