The Consumer Confidence Index is higher than it has been in 17 years, since the period following the election of George Bush and before 9/11. We’re far from perfect, but to quote Warren Buffet, “For 240 years its been a terrible mistake to bet against America”.

And Small Businessmen optimism is, according to National Federation of Independent Businesses president Juanita Duggan, the most “remarkable in 45 years”. See

It has been made public that a Facebook client gathered data on 50 million users without their affirmative consent. Americans are waking up to the reality that the services offered by major tech companies are not "free" - you are using your privacy as currency, and what you thought was relatively contained has indeed been sold. Does the government need to tightened penalties for lax security? On May 25 the EU will enact tighter laws:EU's GDPR homepage.

And oh yah, do you think Google's security around our student and teacher data is somehow safe forever? Not a chance. Google is not a charity. We too are paying for their servers and software using our privacy in lieu of cash. It is naive to consider our Google Classroom work forever private.
