Former Miss Sumter County Recognized As Tallahassee Leader
Tallahassee, Fla. – Wildwood High School Graduate Candace Munz has been selected by the Tallahassee Network of Young Professionals (NYP) as one of the Capital City’s “Top 20 Leaders Under 40.” Also known as the Golden A.C.E. Award, this award highlights young talent and emerging leaders in Florida’s capital city who dedicate themselves to Authentic Community Engagement- A.C.E.
“We are thrilled to be in a position to honor the top young professionals in our area,” said NYP President Meghan Kelley. “We appreciate the hard work all of all of the nominees and their dedication to make Tallahassee an even better place to live, work, play and stay.”
In addition to her professional achievements, Munz was recognized for her wide array of community involvement. Currently, she serves as the Communications Coordinator for the Capital Young Republicans, Secretary of the North Florida Fair Board, Publicity Chair for the North Leon Relay for Life, has created the North Florida Fair Scholarship Pageant, is a member of the Florida Society of Association Executives and the Tallahassee Network of Young Professionals and volunteers with Leon County 4-H and the local Humane Society. Munz also maintains active membership in the International Buckskin Horse Association and the University of Florida Alumni Association.
“Being involved in my community is a value that was instilled in me from a young age,” Munz said. “I am infinitely grateful to have had my aunt Erin and my grandparents Larry and Veronica Munz learn from. They taught me to take every opportunity that I can to help those around us.”
Munz graduated from Wildwood High School in 2008 and received her Bachelors of Science in Agriculture Education and Communications from the University of Florida in 2012. She currently serves as the Manager of Communications and Public Relations for the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects, headquartered in Tallahassee.
“I hope future generations of WHS graduates know that they are capable of accomplishing anything they put their mind to,” said Munz. “Where you come from is an integral part of who you are, but where you are headed is a decision you get to make for yourself.”
