Dear parents:

On Friday, November 21 the 8th grade students will be touring churches in our area as an enrichment experience to their study of the four marks of the Church – One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic.

We depart St. Andrew at 7:45 AM and will tour the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains, where students will learn about the history of our archdiocese in addition to experiencing the architectural significance of the Cathedral. Next we travel to the Maronite Catholic Church, St. Anthony of Padua, and worship with the Divine Liturgy (the mass) in this Eastern Roman Catholic rite. The Maronite Church traces its roots to the Apostolic Church in Antioch, in present day Syria. Last, we will tour the Basilica of the Blessed Mother of the Assumption in Covington, which is a replica of the Notre Dame Cathedral in France.

We arrive back at school in time for dismissal. Students will need to pack a lunch and drink. The cost of the trip is $10.00 - $9 per student to cover the cost of the all-day bus, and a suggested donation of $1.00 to offer St. Anthony of Padua parish, as a good will gesture since greeting tour groups is not part of their routine. They are graciously welcoming our students! You can make an offering beyond $1.00 to St. Anthony if you wish.

Please return this signed permission form and payment no later than Monday, November 17.

It is my hope that your child will appreciate how the Holy Spirit moves in our Church today and throughout the ages after this field trip. Please pray for your child, that s/he may be touched in a special way as a Child of God and a baptized member of the universal Church on this day.

PERMISSION SLIP

I request that SASEAS School take my child ______,

on a field trip to various area churches. The students will travel by bus and leave St. Andrew Campus at approximately 7:45 AM and return at approximately 2:30 PM. In consideration of the making of arrangements for the trip by SASEAS School, I hereby release and save harmless the school of SASEAS School, Milford, Ohio, from any and all liability from any injury, loss, or other claims arising out of or resulting from the trip.
