2.  Welcoming Remarks: 10:20

Secretary Diana Dooley and Department Directors will provide opening remarks and comments on long term services and supports in California.

3.  Coordinated Care Initiative: Vision, Summary and Roles

Toby Douglas, Director, Department of Health Care Services will report on the vision of the Coordinated Care Initiative, provide a summary of the legislation and plans for implementation, and describe what the roles of the state, Managed Care Organizations, and providers will be in this new system.

4.  Coordinated Care Initiative: Long Term Services and Supports

Panel with Will Lightbourne, Director, Department of Social Services, Toby Douglas, Director, Department of Health Care Services, and Lora Connolly, Director, Department of Aging. They will discuss long term services and supports in the Coordinated Care Initiative, including In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) and Multipurpose Senior Service Program (MSSP).

5.  Coordinated Care Initiative: Consumer Protection and the Appeals Processes 1:15

Toby Douglas, Director, Department of Health Care Services, and Will Lightbourne, Director, Department of Social Services will describe the consumer protections and the appeals processes in the Coordinated Care Initiative.

6.  State Experiences with Uniform Assessments 1:45

Lisa Shugarman, SCAN Foundation, will present on the report the SCAN Foundation funded on how four states (Washington, Minnesota, Arkansas, and New York) have implemented uniform assessments. Committee members will discuss what California can learn and make recommendations for the uniform assessment that will be phased in as a part of the Coordinated Care Initiative.
