OLD GLORY DAYS GAME RULES

The Old Glory Days Game will be held December 12th at Deer Park North Campus Stadium immediately following the All Star game. The teams will be divided by AFC Coaches and NFC Coaches. The game will be played in full pads and will be a full contact football game. There will be a $5 entry fee for all adult fans and participants, children and seniors are $2. Exception: TIFI youth players wearing their team jersey or drill team shirt will be allowed in free.

Coaches, board members, and volunteers are allowed to participate.

A medical release form must be signed.

Field will consist of the standard 100 yard football field. Quarters will be 10 minutes long. A standard junior high football will be used.

If a player receives 2 personal fouls during the game, he is ejected. If a player is no where near a play and lays someone out, 15 yard penalty.

No kick offs, each team will get the ball starting at there own 20 yard line.

No punts. If a team chooses to punt on 4th down the team will receive a 30 yard punt and the referee will spot the ball.

No blocking below the waist at all. This includes down field blocking.

No chop blocks.

No crack back blocks.

No blitzing at all.

All TIFI and “NCAA Rules” will apply. With a few exceptions (ie: 15 play rule)

Field goals will be allowed. 3 points. There will be no fakes on field goal attempts. No rush on field goal attempts. 5 seconds will be allowed to get the kick off. There will be no returns on the field goal. It will be spotted from the attempt. If inside the 20, the ball will go out to the 20 yard line. If the ball is dropped during the extra point attempt, it can be reset on the tee if done so within the 5 seconds Otherwise it is a dead ball.

Extra points: Kick 2 points, Pass 2 points, Run in 1 point. Same rules apply when kicking for an extra point as they do with a field goal attempt.

Both teams will run a straight 5-2 defense. There will only be 5 guys on the line of scrimmage and they have to be down in a stance. There is no goal line defense inside the 20.

Celebration is ok as long as it is kept clean and entertains the kids.

Anyone that shows a conduct problem on the playing field will be kicked out of the game and give up all rights in coaching in TIFI the following season. All coaches are expected to adhere by the Coaches Code of Ethics, the Player Code of Ethics, and the TIFI rules governing sportsmanship. This game is intended to be fun and entertaining to the kids. Coaches are to remember that they are role models and are expected to set examples for the players of TIFI.
