OLA Super Conference 2016 Registration Categories
Please note:
- Everyone attending the conference in any capacity must be registered and badged – this is a security requirement. If one of the following categories does not seem to fit your circumstance, please contact the Registration Support Centre (contact information at end of this document).
- Membership must be current at the time of registration. If your membership is expired you will need to renew it at If your number and last name entry is not successful, check “My Account” on the OLA website, or contact the OLA Office at 416-363-3388; 1-866-873-9867.
- OLA accepts VISA or Master Card payments. Cheques are only accepted through Institutional Registrations.

The Support Centre opens on November 2, 2015 to answer your questions and organize group registrations.

Registration for Super Conference is divided into SECTION A and SECTION B. Please review the following and register appropriately.
SECTION A
OLA MEMBER
OLA members are eligible for member pricing.
All members of OLA use this category – including OLBA Members, Student Members, Retired Members, Members with no income i.e. job seekers.
Speakers are the exception – all speakers must use Section B.
OLBA MEMBER
OLBA members register at reduced rates.
STUDENT MEMBERS, RETIRED MEMBERS, NO-INCOME MEMBERS
This category applies to OLA members who are students, retired, or have no income. Student members must be full-time students in a library graduate or diploma program, or in a teacher pre-service education program, or job seekers with no income. The fee to become a student member is just $20.00 per year, only student members qualify for the student rate.
SECTION B
NON-MEMBER
It is more cost-effective to become a member of OLA and then register for the conference. This may be done by visiting at If you do not wish to join OLA, you are welcome to register as a non-member using this category.
SC 2016 SPEAKER
Individuals approved as session speakers use this option, including speakers who are not OLA members. ALL speakers must register even if they are attending only on their speaking day. Badges are generated from the registration file, and refreshments for social functions are based on registration numbers.
If you do not have a badge onsite, you may be asked to leave the premises.
AFFILIATE ORGANIZATION MEMBER
This category applies to members of the The Partnership (APLA, ABQLA, Sask LA, BCLA, NWTLA, NSLA, LAA, NLLA, NLA, MLA, YLA) and OHLA, OALT/ABO, Special Libraries Committee, New York Library Association.
TICKETS FOR PUBLIC LIBRARY AWARDS RECEPTION
Use this option if you wish to purchase tickets for the Public Library Awards Reception, but will not otherwise be registering for the conference; OR, if you have already registered and want to purchase additional tickets.

INSTITUTIONAL REGISTRATIONS
Institutions wishing to register five or more individuals from the same institution and pay either by credit card or by one institutional cheque can set up a self-managed institutional portal. The portal accommodates multiple categories i.e. speaker, member, non-member, etc. One invoice will be generated. To set up a custom portal, please contact the Registration Support Centre (contact information below).
WORKING IN FIRST NATION PUBLIC LIBRARY
Library staff in First Nation public libraries register using a promotional code. This code is communicated via the First Nations Networking listserv. If you did not receive your code please contact
The full conference rate is just $155, which is HST exempt and includes a one-year membership in OLA.
ATTENDING AN AQ (Additional Qualifications) COURSE IN SCHOOL LIBRARIANSHIP, Part One, Two, Specialist
If you are currently attending an AQ in School Librarianship, attended in summer 2015, or registered to start January/February 2016, you are eligible for a 50% discount on your conference package. You will need to contact the Registration Support Centre (information below).
DECISION MAKERS AS A GUEST OF AN OLA MEMBER
Registered OLA Members are entitled to bring a Decision Maker Guest for one day at no charge. This includes mayors and reeves, school principals and superintendents and others who make decisions about college, university, school and public libraries. When the OLA member registers, an email will be sent back with a link to register the guest. This guest will be subject to OLA approval.
SPOUSES
Registered delegates wishing to bring spouses and friends to social events are welcome to purchase extra tickets for the Public Library Awards Gala at $40.00 each.
