“OHIO’S OLDEST WALKING HORSE FUTURITY”

The Ohio Pleasure Futurity is pleased to announce that the OHIO PLEASURE FUTURITY CHAMPIONSHIP classes will be held in conjunction with the MOWHA’s Fall Round-Up. The MOWHA Fall Round-Up will be held at EDEN PARK EQUESTRIAN CENTERinSunbury, Ohio on October 21 &22, 2016.

Renewal forms for yearlings, two year olds, and three year olds, are included. 2013 weanlings can be nominated until October 21, 2016. Stallions (must be nominated in order to nominate weanlings), may also be nominated until October 21, 2016. All foals and stallions showing at the MOWHA FALL ROUND UP,must be nominated prior to showing.

AGAIN THIS YEAR,is the ability to nominate horses previously not nominated andthose that have nominated but nominationshave lapsed. There will be a small penalty assessed, but nearly EVERYONE is now eligible under the previously revised Ohio Pleasure Futurity rules.

THE OHIO PLEASURE FUTURITY

GENERAL PROVISIONS

THE THREE DIVISIONS

The Ohio Pleasure Futurity will be shown in four divisions: Weanling, Yearling, Two Year Old, and Three Year Old Plantation Pleasure. Classes may be split by sex and additional classes may be offered based upon demand. It will be required that all horses be registered with a Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association and that all registration papers be in proper order.

WHAT FOALS ARE ELIGIBLE

All foals must be the produce of stallions that have been, or will be, nominated to the Ohio Pleasure Futurity.

HOW TO NOMINATE THE SIRE

Nomination of the sire is necessary for the entries in the Weanling division only. A stallion need be nominated only once each year, regardless of the number of weanling entries sired by him. The owner of the stallion has the priority for this nomination. Excluding the owner, the first postmarked nomination is official, all others will be refunded. To nominate a stallion in the Futurity, it is necessary that a nomination fee be paid prior to a date set and advertised by the Futurity. The nomination fee will be $35.00.

NOMINATION OF THE WEANLING

In order for the foal to be eligible for the weanling division of the futurity, the following conditions must be complied with 1. The sire must be nominated by the date set and advertised by the futurity; 2. The foal must be registered or pending registration with the proper organization; 3. A fee of $25 must be paid to the futurity postmarked on or before the date set by the futurity of the year in which the foal was born. HOW SHOWN: The entries in this division shall be shown in hand and barefoot (no shoes permitted)

NOMINATION OF THE YEARLING

In order to make a colt, filly, or gelding, eligible to show in the yearling division of the futurity, the following conditions must be complied with: 1. The colt, filly, or gelding must have been nominated as a weanling and all conditions of that division must have been met. 2. The yearling must be registered with the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association. 3. A fee of $25 must be paid to the futurity postmarked on or before the date set by the futurity of the year following the birth of the foal. HOW SHOWN: The entries in this division shall be shown in hand, NO PADS ALLOWED, but may be shod according to the Plantation requirements of the shows affiliating organization.

NOMINATION OF THE TWO YEAR OLD PLANTATION HORSE

In order to make a colt, filly, or gelding eligible for the Two Year Old Plantation Pleasure division of the futurity, the following conditions must be complied with: 1. The colt, filly, or gelding must have been nominated as a yearling and all conditions of that division must have been met. 2. A fee of $25 must be paid to the futurity postmarked on or before the date set by the futurity of the year the entry becomes a two-year-old. HOW SHOWN: Entries in the Two Year Old Plantation division must be shod according to the Plantation Division requirements of the show’s affiliating organization. This class will be judged as a true pleasure horse class. The horse must exhibit a true 4 beat headshaking running walk.

NOMINATION OF THE THREE YEAR OLD PLANTATION PLEASURE HORSE

In order to make a colt, filly, or gelding eligible for the Three Year Old Plantation Pleasure division of the futurity, the following conditions must be complied with: 1. The colt, filly, or gelding must have been nominated as a two-year-old and all conditions of that division must have been met. 2. A fee of $25 must be paid to the futurity postmarked on or before the date set by the futurity of the year the entry becomes a three-year-old. HOW SHOWN: Entries in the three-year Old Plantation division must be shod according to the Plantation Division requirements of the show’s affiliating organization. This class will be judged as a true pleasure horse class. The horse must exhibit a true 4 beat headshaking-running walk.

LATE NOMINATIONS

In order to nominate a foal that has either never been nominated or has missed nominations, the following fee schedule will apply. The penalty will be in addition to all unpaid applicable fees.

Yearlings – A $20.00 penalty will be assessed.

Two Year Old Plantation– A $30.00 penalty will be assessed.

Three Year Old Plantation– A $40.00 penalty will be assessed.

ADVANCE PAYMENT OF FEES

You may nominate your foal for the weanling, yearling, two-year-old, and three-year-old divisions for a one-time payment of $85.00 postmarked on or before a date set and published by the futurity. Should the foal be sold nomination will transfer with the foal. Please notify the futurity when the foal is sold.

PRIZES

In each division the winner will receive 35% of the prize fund for that division: second – 25%, third – 15%, fourth – 12%, fifth – 8%, sixth – 5%. The value of the prize fund of the futurity each year shall be the total amount of money paid in fees, miscellaneous funds, and added donations less administrative expenses. Prizes will be paid by check to the owner of the winning entry by mail, once all outstanding fees are collected.

LIABILITY

No entry is liable for more than the amount paid in but THERE WILL BE NO RETURN OF ANY PAYMENT. The right is reserved to reject any entry, and to debar nay entry from competition or exhibition for failure to comply with the conditions of the Futurity.
