Ohana Matters Foundation
Scholarship Application
Please submit your materials through your Faculty Rep or email to . In Hawaiian, the word ‘ohana’ means family. The Ohana Matters Foundation (OMF) understands that sustainable growth, the kind that builds upon itself, that spills over and benefits all members of society, begins with inspired and committed individuals. Related individuals form families, and related families form greater communities. As with families, the bonds that tie communities together grow stronger with love and support. Together there is no problem we can’t solve. Community matters. Ohana matters.
In recognition of these relationships, OMF proudly offers academic scholarships to the sharpest students and encourages them to stay and build rewarding careers in the places they call home. OMF is searching graduating high-school seniors – particularly those interested in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) – whoare committed to academic excellence as well as to service in the community. Factors in selection of scholarships include high school grades, coursework and awards, plans to take university coursework and apply in a future career in their native land, history of service in the community, applicant financial need, and letters of recommendation.
