SUBJECT:School Improvement Planning Information 2014-15

There has not yet been guidance from the Bureau of School Improvement Office relative to updates to2014-15 School Improvement Plans. As this information becomes available, I will keep you informed. However, based on local assessment data, surveys, needs assessments, etc.,schools can still get a jump start on planning for next year. Please find below the tentative dates for School Improvement Planning for the 2014-2015 school year.

Tentative Training and Due Dates for 2014-2015 School Improvement Plans are as follows:

May 22 / 2014-2015Preliminary SIP Trainingwill take place online via Blackboard Collaborate. A link to the training video will be sent to all principals to view at their convenience. Additionally, schools will be sent an SIP Guidance Document to accompany the online training.
July 21
9am – 12pm

1pm – 4pm
(ProGOE Section 796) / SIP Training Updates – Two participants per school should choose one session to attend

August 1
8:00am – 10:00am

10:30am – 12:30pm
(ProGOE Section 798)
1:00pm – 3:00pm
(ProGOE Section 800) / SIP Training – Question and Answer/Feedback Sessions (Optional)

September 8 / Draft of SIP due to area office, with a hard copy due to Janet Stephenson, School Improvement Office
Sept. 15 – Oct. 3 / Individual SIP meetings with Area Offices and Principals (scheduled through Area Office)
October 10 / Final copy of SIP is due to Janet Stephenson, School Improvement Office
October 14 / Board Meeting informational item – SIP Plans
October 28 / Board Meeting approval item – SIP Plans

Due dates and communications for D and F schools will be announced after school grades become available.

ProGOE2 DIRECTIONS FOR REGISTERING

*Log into the Brevard Public Schools web site>Staff>Software Applications>ProGOE2/In-service. Use the “Courses” tab to search for the course title.

* Under search Type in the course title– click on Search

* Click on the course number

* Click on the Section number that you wish to register for

* Click on Register – verify course information

* Click next

* Choose in-service credit

* Click next

* You are finished

* ProGOE2 will send you a registration confirmation
