From the Office: Please remember students are not to be dropped off or left unattended at school prior to 8:33 am. Students are unsupervised prior to this time and it is not a safe situation for your child to be in. We appreciate your understanding in following this rule.
Class Pictures & Individual Spring Portraits- School Pictures Inc. will be at CLES on March 22, 2016 to take class pictures and photograph any students who purchase an individual spring portrait package. Flyers will be sent home a week before pictures and order forms will be sent home the day before pictures. CLES receives a portion of the proceeds on all portrait orders, which are used to purchase resources for the students and school. Late orders cannot be accepted for individual spring portrait packages so please make sure if you would like your child photographed for an individual portrait you must send in your order that day.
PARCC Testing-All students in grades 3-5 will be participating in PARCC Testing. PARCC is the name for the reading, writing, and mathematics assessments developed by the multi-state Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers. This year, PARCC will be administered over one testing window. Each grade (3-5) will have 7 days of testing. We encourage all students to be here on the following days of testing, we ask parents to refrain from scheduling appointments or family trips on dates your child will be tested. Below you will find the list of actual dates each grade level will be participating in testing:
Grade 3
ELA- Thursday, April 28; Friday, April 29; and Tuesday, May 3
Math- Friday, May 6; Monday, May 9; Tuesday, May 10; and Wednesday, May 11
Grade 4
ELA- Monday, May 2; Wednesday, May 4; and Thursday, May 5
Math- Monday, May 23; Tuesday, May 24; Thursday, May 26; Friday, May 27
Grade 5
ELA- Friday, April 22; Monday, April 25; and Wednesday, April 27
Math- Friday, May 6; Monday, May 9; Tuesday, May 10; and Wednesday, May 11
From the Music Department- Students in Grades 3-5 , the deadline to order Recorders for Music class is March 11th. We will not be ordering extras so please make sure your place your order by the deadline. We encourage parents to purchase the recorder online at Recorders are available to order for all third grade students as well as any 4th or 5th grade students who may need to order a new one. Registration for the 2016-2017 school year-We will continue to register students for kindergarten. All registrations will be by appointment only for the remainder of the school year. Please call 410-313-2800 to schedule an appointment. Please spread the word to any neighbors who may not have students in school yet and encourage them to register early!
Students enrolling in kindergarten for 2016-2017 school year MUST be five years old by September 1, 2016. A custodial parent must register student and parent must live in the school attendance area of the school in which they plan to enroll their student. - Signed original, current lease or deed with your address, valid dates, signatures
- Current utility bill
- Child’s original birth certificate or passport
- Proof of parental relationship, custody or guardianship

Mindset Parent’s Night March 23rd at NORTHFIELD ELEMENTARY-
CLES will be partnering with Northfield Elementary to offer a night of parent and student learning on developing a growth mindset. There will be breakout sessions for parents and students. Sessions include….

Attention 5th Grade Parents!!-We are collecting yearbook dedications for our graduating class!!
This is your opportunity to submit a personal message and photo for your graduating 5th grader to be printed in the yearbook.
To be included, please email your message and photo to:
- Include your child’s first and last name and homeroom teacher in the subject of the email
- Messages should be 50-75 words long
- Photos should be attached to your email. Please name the photo file your child’s name, i.e. janesmith.jpg

Boy Scouts-Scouting for Food will be held on Sat., Mar. 19. Boy Scouts, Venturing Crew members and Girl Scouts who attend Centennial Lane Elementary will be out in your neighborhood on that day to collect your donations. A bag will be dropped off at your home a few days before. Please remember to put your donations by your front door or your mailbox by 8 a.m. on Mar. 19. Thanks for your generous donations. CHS Musical: Prepare to be taken to a “world of color, music and glamour” as the Centennial High School Theatre Department takes on the Tony award winning “The Drowsy Chaperone” from Thursday, March 17- Saturday, March 19 at 7:00 pm, with a matinee on Sunday, March 20 at 3:00 pm.

Our camp provides an instructional clinic from the beginner to the advanced athlete in a safe and fun environment. Groups will be divided into elementary, middle and high school levels. We will teach fundamental skills to the beginner. We will maximize the potential of our intermediate players and challenge the advanced player tactically and technically to master his skills.
