Business Analyst

General Accountability

The incumbent reports to the Manager, Corporate Business Systems and is responsible for analyzing the business needs of stakeholders with a view to defining business requirements and supporting/tracking the implementation of proposed solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize, research and analyze organizational process and business issues.
  • Elicit, analyze, document and validate business requirements in keeping with the business units’ key strategic priorities/business needs.
  • Map and analyze current state processes, identify process gaps and model new future state processes.
  • Research and recommend workable and cost effective solutions for business/process issues.
  • Redesign existing systems and processes to improve/optimize process output.
  • Work with ICT in the development of technology solutions to address the needs of the business.
  • Plan and execute quality assurance test arrangements for new/amended technology solutions.
  • Provide end user training and post implementation support for implemented technology solutions.
  • Assess the effectiveness of implemented solutions through post implementation reviews.
  • Support the documentation of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain framework for enterprise Business Process Management.

The selected candidate must possess the following combination of qualifications, skills, training and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management or related field OR suitable combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in analysis and design of business systems and/or minimum fiveyears experience in other functional roles at a leadership level in a financial services environment.
  • Conversant with UTC’s business practices and systems.
  • Working knowledge of local and international legislations/regulations applicable to UTC’s business.
  • Current with the field of Business Process Management (BPM) and its related techniques.
  • Fully functional in Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management Software.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills.
  • Quick and innovative thinker; systems thinking approach to issue analysis.
  • High degree of initiative, strong self-management skills and comfortable with authority.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work, within tight deadlines with constantly changing priorities.
  • High execution capability with the ability to carry tasks through to completion.
  • Effective planning, organizing, structuring and implementation skills.
  • Effective business communication skills [verbal & written] and relationship building skills.
