Welcome Week

Purpose of the Event

The purpose of Welcome Week is to warmly welcome, unify and inspire pride in all new and returning students to Walsh College.

Limitation

Walsh College students are non-traditional students. Most juggle work and family while they earn their degree. Students commute to school, go to class and go home. Large percentage of students takes classes online.

Positive Aspects of the Event

·  This event allows the Student Network, student organizations, the WCAA, faculty and staff to engage students and create a positive culture of pride in Walsh College

·  Student Network, student organizations and College departmental information, event brochures and other program collateral will be presented to an audience who might not otherwise be aware of programs, events and services

·  Increase awareness of the opportunities and benefits student organizations offer to students

·  Opportunity for student organizations to practice networking, engaging professionals and other soft skills

Goals and Objectives

·  Increase valuable participation of student organizations and WCAA

·  Increase engagement of student

·  Build a unified bridge between academic and administrative departments

Initiatives

·  Provide student organizations an opportunity to advertise their group with sidewalk chalk

·  Create a competitive aspect between student organizations to decorate their table

·  Communicate Welcome Week to the academic departments and online learning to be included in announcements

·  Invite professors to come out and network with students

·  Post on social media

Budget
