Academic scholarships are on offer valued at over $42,000 at the Brisbane and Sydney campuses

These scholarships are awarded to students who can demonstrate a passion for marketing, advertising, event management, public relations or journalism. All Year 12 students with an interest in these areas are encouraged to apply.

Australian Catholic University

Range of scholarships valued between $1,500 and $5,000, including equity scholarships, some once-off payments and others per annum

A number of scholarships and/or opportunities including:

ü  Early Achievers’ Program

The Early Achievers’ Program (EAP) recognises the achievements and community contributions made by prospective students. Online applications will open 14 August 2011 and close 14 October 2011. Visit www.acu.edu.au/counts

ü  Campus-based Scholarships

ACU offers a number of undergraduate campus-based scholarships.

Australian National University

Range of scholarships each year, each ranging between $1,000 and $20,000, some once-off payments and others per annum

An extensive range of scholarships are on offer including:

ü  ANU National Undergraduate Scholarship

Awarded to eligible students who have achieved an ATAR of 99.90 and above, across all faculties. No application is required. All eligible applicants who have put in an application through UAC to ANU will be automatically considered. Please note that this scholarship cannot be deferred. Valued at $12,500 pa.

ü  ANU National Merit Scholarship

These scholarships are available to recent school leavers who achieved excellent results in their Year 12 qualification. A minimum ATAR of 99.75 – 99.85 is required to be considered. No application is required. All eligible applicants who have put in an application through UAC to ANU will be automatically considered. Valued at $6,500 pa.

ü  ANU International Undergraduate Scholarship

Several scholarships offered that cover all tuition fees and 100% Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) premiums for International students who are immediate school leavers and attain an ATAR of 99.60. All eligible applicants who have put in an application through UAC to ANU will be automatically considered.

ü  ANU Foundation for Visual Arts Scholarship (for International students too)

Open to students who are an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, a holder of a Permanent Visa in Australia or is an International Student. Students must be successful in obtaining entry to an undergraduate degree program offered by the School of Art in the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences, and be deemed to be an outstanding applicant in any area of expertise of the School by the Selection Committee. No application is necessary as all new undergraduate students will be automatically considered.

ü  ANU Ruth Pfanner Commencement Scholarships

All new applicants commencing an undergraduate degree offered by the ANU School of Music will be automatically considered. No application required as all new undergraduate students will be automatically considered.

ü  ANU Dennis Griffin National Piano Undergraduate Scholarships

Applicants must have received an offer by the School of Music in the piano and composition area of the School. No application required as all new undergraduate students will be automatically considered.

ü  ANU College of Business and Economics Student Support Awards

Awarded to students who attain a minimum ATAR of 92.00, are Australian citizens or Permanent Residents, have made an application through UAC for one of the qualifying business courses and submitted an online application form. Selection will be made based on academic merit, statement of need/motivation and home address as listed on the student's UAC application.

ü  ANU College of Business & Economics Undergraduate Merit Awards

Awarded to Australian students with a minimum ATAR of 95.00 and have made an application through UAC. All eligible applicants who have put in an application through UAC for one of the qualifying business courses to ANU will be automatically considered.

ü  ANU School of Finance, Actuarial Studies, Applied Statistics School Undergraduate Merit Award

Open to students who are an Australian citizen or holder of a Permanent Visa in Australia with a minimum ATAR of 95.00 and have made an application through UAC for the Bachelor of Actuarial Studies, Bachelor of Finance or Bachelor of Statistics (combined degrees are accepted). No application necessary as all eligible students considered automatically.

ü  ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science International Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships

International students must have an ATAR of 99.00 and must be enrolling in and remain enrolled in an undergraduate program in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS). An online application form can be found at https://apollo.anu.edu.au/apollo/default.asp?pid=5744&script=true

ü  ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships

Students must have an ATAR of 99.0+ and be enrolling in a Bachelor Degree program offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Students must also be Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, or holders of a Permanent Resident Visa in Australia, and have made an application through UAC. No application necessary as all eligible students considered automatically.

ü  ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science Undergraduate Scholarships for Female Students

A limited number of scholarships awarded to female Australian citizens or holders of a Permanent Residency visa who achieve an ATAR of 95.00 to 99.00 and who are enrolling in Undergraduate programs offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science. All eligible applicants who have put in an application through UAC to ANU will be automatically considered.

ü  ANU Environment Scholarship

A number of scholarships will be available for undergraduate students from outside of Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory region who enrol in an environment-related program, e.g. Science or Sustainability Studies. Students must attain an ATAR of at least 95.00, must make an application through UAC and will be assessed on a combination of academic achievement and contribution to the community.

Bond University

Bond University offers an extensive scholarship program, with values ranging from 25% scholarships to 100% scholarships.

Some of the scholarships on offer include:

ü  Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships

Available to Year 12 students with an anticipated ATAR above 96; with demonstrated strong leadership skills, and extensive involvement in extra-curricular activities.

ü  Australia Day Scholarships

This full-fee scholarship is awarded annually to a talented and motivated Year 12 student enrolled in a Victorian secondary school. Students with an anticipated ATAR above 90; with demonstrated strong leadership skills and extensive involvement in extra-curricular activities should consider applying. Finalists must present a three-minute speech on 'My Vision for Australia'.

ü  Corporate Scholarships

Bond's Corporate Scholarships open the doors to blue-chip career opportunities by offering a study partnership with multi-national accountancy, legal, banking, IT and other Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of industry sectors. Students with an anticipated ATAR above 92; with demonstrated strong leadership skills and extensive involvement in extra-curricular activities should consider applying. Corporate scholarships on offer in 2011 are:

ü  Living-Expense Bursaries

Valued at $5,000 Bond University offers undergraduate an opportunity to apply for a Living-Expense Bursary. This cash bursary is given during a student's first semester of study at Bond University, and is awarded to applicants with strong academic achievements as well as community involvement, and extra-curricular achievements.

ü  John Burton Cadetship Scholarship for Journalism

The John Burton Cadetship-Scholarship in Journalism is awarded annually to Year 12 students who have strong academic credentials and a commitment to a career in print journalism. This cadetship is a four-year program alternating work and study, with a guaranteed position as a newspaper journalist on completion. Successful candidates will study for their Bachelor of Journalism and work as a paid cadet at the Gold Coast Bulletin on a semester-on/semester-off basis.

ü  Undergraduate Deans’ Scholarships

Each faculty supports outstanding Australian students by awarding part-fee scholarships - generally, 25 - 40% of the tuition fees for any undergraduate degree combination (excluding MBBS). A number of Deans' scholarships are awarded annually at the discretion of the Dean of each Faculty. Besides a strong academic performance, applicants must also demonstrate strong leadership skills and extensive involvement in extra-curricular activities.

ü  Academic Excellence Scholarships

50% of tuition fees for any undergraduate degree combination (excluding MBBS). Students with an ATAR of 97.8 will be considered. An additional $2,500 will be awarded if the student lives 75 km away from Bond University, towards their relocation costs.

Box Hill Institute

A range of scholarships are on offer including equity scholarships, ranging in value from $1,000 to $11,000. Scholarships are on offer from certificate to degree courses.

Most scholarships cover the academic fees, prescribed texts and material for one year of study, although some cover the length of the course.

ü  Vice Chancellor’s Scholarships

CQUniversity offers a limited number of Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships to top new international students. Scholarships are available to all new students for study at the University's Rockhampton, Melbourne and Gold Coast campuses and new undergraduate students at Sydney International campus. Each scholarship provides exceptional students with a 20% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of their degree. VC Scholarship students can choose degrees from any faculty for this scholarship and are assessed by a panel on a case-by basis.

Charles Allan Seymour Hawker Scholarship

The C.A.S. Hawker Scholarship commemorates the achievements of one of Australia's most respected pastoral pioneers who served with distinction in the First World War and went on to become a distinguished scholar and leading figure in the Federal Parliament prior to his tragic and untimely death in an aircraft accident in 1938.

Since 1991 the Charles Allan Seymour Hawker Memorial Scholarship Trust Fund has awarded nearly four million dollars to 90 young Australians. The scholarships have been awarded almost equally to male and female applicants. Scholarship holders have come from every sector of Australian society and graduated from government, catholic and private schools. They have studied law, politics, economics, medicine and arts. Hawker Scholars are now working in Australia, Europe, the US and Asia.

Applications for the 2012 Hawker Scholarship open on Friday 9 December 2011 and close Friday 6 January 2012.

Charlie Bell Scholarship for Future Leaders
The Charlie Bell Scholarship for Future Leaders honours Charlie Bell, the former McDonald's Corporation CEO. The scholarship aims to assist people realise their academic and professional goals. The scholarship is open to current employees of McDonald's and applicants must be eligible to commence an undergraduate degree at an Australian University and be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency. Successful applicants will receive up to $15,000 towards their university fees.

Charles Sturt University

Unless specified, scholarships at Charles Sturt University are normally worth from $2,000 to $6,000, some as a once-off payment and others per annum.

ü  Charles Sturt University (CSU) Excellence Scholarships

Awarded to students based on a combination of academic merit (ATAR of 95 and above) and evidence of demonstrated leadership and citizenship within the community. This is a cash scholarship of $5,000 per annum. The CSU Excellence Scholarships are allocated evenly and according to demand across all Faculties at CSU - Arts, Business, Education and Science.

ü  Foundation Scholarships through CSU Campuses

Most of these scholarships are funded by individuals or organisations that hold a strong belief in supporting the University and its students. The Charles Sturt Foundation provides over 200 undergraduate scholarships at the Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange and Wagga Wagga campuses of Charles Sturt University. Applications for most of these scholarships should be done online.

ü  Science Scholarships

Charles Sturt University offers you a helping hand to start your career in science via lucrative scholarships for on campus applicants in selected science courses. These University funded scholarships will provide successful applicants with $4000 per annum for up to four years, subject to satisfactory progress. Students anticipating attaining an ATAR of 80 or above should consider applying. These scholarships are offered through a broad range of science-related degrees. These include –
