Change of Assessment by ‘Level’ over to ‘Bands’.
In reporting to you on your child’s progress, school have always reported the level that your child has reached in their academic attainment. You get this information during Parent Meetings and in the final End of Year Report.
Government changes now means that we are now reporting progress as age related expectation (ARE). We are using a system called Target Tracker, to track children’s half termly progress. This will now show the old level with an ARE Band. As the grid indicates. This is a rough guide to how the Bands will equate to old levels.
More information will be available in the upcoming Parents Meetings; where there will be a series of short information slots, with the opportunity to ask questions about what this means for your child. / Below ARE / Age Related Expectation (ARE) / Exceed ARE

The new colour band system is working well – very like ordering in a restaurant! During registration the children discuss the different foods on offer and what some meals will contain.
The 4 x week menu is on the web site and displayed prominently around school and outside on the menu board. Please, take the time to talk to your child about what they might like for lunch as some meals may not be known to them.
PLEASE MAY I REMIND PARENTS THAT DINNERS NEED TO BE PAID IN ADVANCE OR ON THE DAY - £2.20 PER DAY £11.00 A WEEK – THANK YOU

WEATHER ALERT
As the threat of snow – after the rain – is predicted - information re school closures / care on the playground.
The school grounds will be gritted according to our Gritting Plan. Main pathways will be gritted and we urge you to keep to these pathways and to keep children away from icy areas. We will do our best to keep the grounds safe but ask that you do not allow children to run around or slide on icy surfaces. It is important that the children have a change of suitable shoes/wellingtons in school as the children do enjoy the opportunity to be outside- whatever the weather!
In the event of a severe weather warning and a possible school closure, school will first send out a TEXT2Parents and a broadcast on local radio /
