NO. R-30. JOINT RESOLUTION TO CONGRATULATING THE BELLOWS FALLS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TERRIERS 1998 DIVISION II CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM.

Offered by: Representatives Darrow of Dummerston, Dean of Westminster, Obuchowski of Rockingham and Partridge of Windham.
Whereas, the Bellows Falls High School Football Terriers confidently faced the first-seed Lyndon Institute Vikings for the 1998 Division II Championship, and
Whereas, despite the Vikings achieving an initial 6-0 lead, the Terriers, under the superb direction of quarterback Chris Holton, who thrilled the cheering crowd at Hadley Field when he ran 78 yards in a single sprint as part of a fantastic afternoon that included three touchdowns, quickly gained the upper hand, and
Whereas, Pat Bingham served as a fantastic receiver for quarterback Holton as this dynamic football duo achieved two touchdown plays in just over three minutes into the second half and provided the Terriers with a comfortable 3012 lead, and
Whereas, key fourth-quarter plays by Matt Vosburgh and Garrett and Alex Allen contributed to a final 38-26 Terriers triumph and the clinching of the 1998 Division II Football Championship for the hard working boys from Bellows Falls High School, and
Whereas, the Terriers’ outstanding 8-3 season was the result of a truly unified team of dedicated, hard-driving players, including Jarod Batchelder, Will Merrill, Chris Batchelder, Nick Managan, Ryan Stoodley, Ben Cook, Ron Berry, Joe Haskell, Ryan Dawkins, Matt Perry, Tyler Hallock, Seth Stoddard, Jamie Dansereau, Jesse Booth, Justin Kissell, Josh Robarge, Brett Wheeler, Evan Goldsmith, Greg Joslyn, Cyrus Loper, John Caracofe, Nick Bennett, Mike Howe, Eric Wheeler and Dan Lafayette, and
Whereas, the superb teaching and support of Coach Bis Bisbee was a critical ingredient in the Terriers’ successful 1998 gridiron campaign and championship finale, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly is pleased to congratulate the 1998 Bellows Falls High School Football Terriers Division II Championship Team, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Coach Bis Bisbee at Bellows Falls High School.
