Odysseyware Coach Best Practices
Purpose of the Coach:
- Generating revenue
- Establishing and maintaining a marketing image
School District use:
- On site presentations with school administrators
- As the pace of business increases at schools the coach offers an alternative meeting place
Closed Door District Meetings:
- The coach provides a private setting where conversations take place outside the political climate of an administration building
- Administrators and educators have had discussions on board the coach that normally wouldn’t take place without it
Group Meetings:
- Onsite faculty presentations for teacher buy-in
- Group sessions have worked well with administrators as well, addressing the solutions we provide to their specific needs
High Level Meetings:
- The coach has been utilized at large district meetings where it’s presence has supported the confidence level of our image
Lunch and Learn Sessions:
- Invite current customer staff out for small group refresher courses and Q&A regarding training
- This has aided in partnership relations and renewals
Tips for Planning a district wide coach trip:
- Optimize potential revenue by setting as many qualified appointments as possible for every mile travelled
- Set appointments with extra time of travel time between stops
- Tour strategy should include a contingency plan to include unscheduled visits within the area in the event of a cancellation or unforeseen opportunity
- Prepare a list of potential revenue with ironclad gate keepers and location information
- Prepare a list of unscheduled drive-by opportunities along the route
- Plan a route that includes the largest potential revenue first then evaluate the cost of expanding further out along that path
Tips for setting appointments:
- Set appointment times that allow more time between meetings than you normally would in a car
- Since the coach travels annually across the nation, use terminology that generates excitement or at least curiosity to that effect
- “the OW Coach is passing through on a National Tour and we’d like to stop at your school for a few minutes to show you the latest….”
- Follow us and our travels on Snapchat and Facebook!
- Create a secondary list of opportunities along the proposed route and let them know the coach will be passing through the area
- Build an event into your invitation to create interest such as fresh coffee & pastries at 7:00am before school starts
- Use open ended terminology in your quest for a meeting so if they decline to commit, you create an opportunity to stop in
- “I understand your busy schedule, so with your permission we will just stop by on our way and drop off info on our NWEA partnership...”
