Instructions – Print out and cut into strips, giving one strip to each student. 20 strips have been included – you may need to add more for bigger groups, or give some student 2 strips if your class is small. Ask who has a strip that says start. Ask that student to read the question on the right hand side of their strip. The class member with the correct answer should say the answer and then read their question. This should continue until you get back to the student who started the loop.

This activity requires full concentration and participation of all class members.

Aquaporins / Start. Which blood vessels carry blood to and from the kidney?

To produce a region of low water potential (a high salt concentration) within the medulla. / What is the effect of increasing ADH levels on the nephron?
The walls of the ascending limb become more water-permeable so more water is reabsorbed preventing it being lost from the body in urine. / Name the proteins that increase in number in the collecting duct cell membranes to enable more water reabsorption.
