Athlete Scholarship Application
OAAare now calling for applications from Member Federations for Athletes to be considered for either a Long or Short Term Oceania Athletics Association Scholarship.
Scholarships will provide support to athletes in various forms including training camps/residence at the OAA Training Centre, competition, training costs, physio/medical support. Support will be dependent on the scholarship provided.
Successful athletes will be able to relocate to the OAA Training Centre on the Gold Coast or may be able to train in other locations if it is deemed best for the athlete.
Scholarship recipients will be required to commit to regular training and competition, athlete reviews and must be considered to be of good standing within the athletics community.
Member Federations will need to make application via the attached form and have the application co-signed by the Athlete.
Scholarship applications will close 15 January 2018 at 12pm AEST. (Applications will not be accepted after this date). It is anticipated that the Member Federations will be notified regarding successful applicants by 12 February 2018 and long term scholarships be effective 1 March 2018.
Applications shouldinclude as much information as possible to assist the Selection Committee in making an informed decision on the selection of Oceania Athletics Association Scholarship recipients.
Please note, if the applicant is under 18 the application will need to be co-signed by a legal guardian
The Member Federation of any scholarship recipient, will be required to contribute financially for certain costs. Member Federations should liaise closely with their NOC to discuss financial contribution support for any nominated athlete.
Long Term Scholarships may be granted for an initial period of up to two (2) years. This will be reviewed regularly and may have further extensions granted.
A six-monthly cost guideline (AUD) is listed for your information. This will vary individually.
