My duties entailed as guided by Kanya:

  • Touring around the factory examining its conditions and finding out from employees their views about the facilities and what they feel should be implemented.
  • Interviewing the employees on their working conditions and treatment by their employers
  • Assisting in the Documentation of the results of the interview of both the employees & employers.

Duties entailed:

  • Interpretingfrom English-Swahili of a conversation that involved an evaluation of a patient by a doctor. ( I can’t reveal details because of the nature of the examination)

This was a technical interpretation but all went well as a result of the hard work we put in it.

2012 to date: On-line translation

Since 2010 even while working in other sectors, I have done part-time translation especially on-line during the weekends and when I was free. Currently, I am a full time freelance translator.

June 2013: Global Peace Foundation

Wrote integrity award speeches that I had to translate toand attended a youth leadership training that enabled me to boost my linguistic skills and engage the youth in developmental activities.

Attended a Swahili training, which was to uplift youth to find a means of earning a decent living

Was part of a team that founded County Employment Network in 2012. This is a one stop shop for all stakeholders in the labor market to access information and foster linkages that bridge the gap between employers and job seekers.

August 2011: Red Cross Community Service:Attended a Red Cross community Service where I joined hands in opening a key road.Doing home based services for example teaching the area residence the importance of keeping the environment clean for sustainable health solutions.

Leadership:Was a class representative from first year through to the fourth year in the University and also in High school.This made me stronger as a leader since I overcame the challenges faced by the leaders who lead huge intellectual groups.

I am Clarice Cleo Odhiambo, a freelance translator. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from a reputable University. I also have experience in translation and I speak and write excellent Swahili, French and English. I have mainly translated documents from English- Swahili,English-French Swahili -English as well as French-English. Swahili is mynative language.

I have studied and spoken French, Swahili and English my whole life plus. I have interacted with Lingala speakers who were my classmates in the Linguistics department for four years on campus and I have learnt the language.My rates range from $ 0.03-0.10 per word depending on the type of document or complexity.

In addition, I have worked in various places as my CV or profile stipulates. Currently, I am a full time freelance translator. My skills are impressive and my clients always get magnificent and stress free services when they hire me. I offer services in a wide variety of topics in several language pairs.
