2.Internal – main conduit of communications for clubs and members

3.PR information resource for District and Club Officers.

Purpose

This report provides an update of the activities that have been planned or completed by the District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) for District 72 (Toastmasters New Zealand).

Revise the current PRO toolbox which is on the District website. Work on this is continuing however still interested in hearing from Clubs as to what PR material they believe they require.

Deliver to all Division & Area Governors a report around current club website use, and suggestions and recommendations where clubs are not making use of the facilities available to them. There are basic opportunities available for clubs to promote themselves and some of these are not being used. Further information in this regard will be available in the updated Toolbox material including available tools to develop websites.

Audios & webinars with other District PRO Officers have been ongoing and we can learn from the efforts of other Districts.

Many enquires to the District PRO are related to availability of Speechcraft courses. Further work is need to generate collateral, additional to what is available on the website, that may be useful to those enquiring as to general Speechcraft information available. Many enquiries are from corporates.

District website plans have not advanced significantly recently, principally due to restrictions in budget and time-frame.Such restrictions mean that change will likely be across more than one year. The wish-list is big!

Interviews conducted with Toni Sharp and Kingi Biddle, which resulted in full page advertorials within Air New Zealand’s Kia Ora Magazine, an initiative of the LGM, David Templeman.

Noted some excellent Division newsletters being presented for inclusion on the District website. Great stuff guys!

It has been my honour to have worked with Denis McCord on his book, “50 Years of Toastmasters in New Zealand”. Congratulations Denis on producing a fine history of District 72 Toastmasters!

Work with other District Officers to assist them to achieve their goals.
