OABO Elite IdentificationCamp 2017

This camp will be held in Kingston May 26-28 in conjunction with the Ontario Basketball U19 Boy’s Ontario Cup Provincial Championship. The camp pre tournament meeting will be at 2:30 pm on the 26th at the host hotel. Camp will end on the 28th mid afternoon.This is a highly competitive tournament. Applicants should have an excellent understanding of the three person system and an excellent knowledge of FIBA rules. Officials should come to camp physically fit and prepared to officiate a high calibre of basketball. Campers can expect to work at least three full games over the course of the camp.

The ideal candidate for this camp is a prospective OUA, CBL, NBL official, or a current OUA official who is looking to build his/her schedule. The camp staff will include Tom Christie, (OUA supervisor), Brigg Harvey (OUA Director of Officials),Karen Lasiuk (CIS, FIBA, NCAA official),Nancy Ethier (Former CIS and FIBA official. Nadine Crowley (FIBA Commissioner, CBOC) has also been asked to join the staff as well, but has yet to confirm. Mike Falloon and Ray Samuels have also been invited to attend.

Cost for the camp is $380,This includes two night’s accommodation at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in downtown Kingston. Each room has two queen beds, or a queen and a sofa bed. Free parking, cable and internet access The registration fee also covers acamp t-shirt, Fox 40 whistle, nightly social and a video review of each game.

The registration fee if you do not require accommodation is $300.

All spots are open on a "first come, first served" basis.If a local board would like to reserve a spot for a prospective official they may contact me now to guarantee the spot and provide the official's name later in the spring. I will also bill the local board in the spring. Enrolment is limited to a maximum of 30 officials. I anticipate that the camp will fill very quickly.

Applicants will not be officially registered untiltheir camp fees have been received, or their local board has notified me that they are guaranteeing payment. Up to April 30 a $50 fee will be charged to any official who cancels after he/she has registered. Officials that cancel after May 1 will forfeit $100.
