OABO Elite Camp 2018

Maximum 30 officials

This camp will run in conjunction with the Ontario Basketball U19Boy’s Provincial Championship in Kingston, May 25-27. The camp pre tournament meeting will be at 2:30 pm on May 25 at the host facility. Camp will end on May 27 mid-afternoon.

This is a highly competitive tournament. Applicants should have an excellent understanding of FIBA rules and three person mechanics. Officials should come to camp physically fit and prepared to officiate a high caliber and very competitive level of basketball. Campers can expect to work at least three full games over the course of the camp.

The ideal candidate for this camp would be a prospective OUA, NBL official, or a current OUA official who is looking to improve their on-court skills. Those officials that are looking to move from NOCP Level 2 to NOCP Level 3, or building their provincial profile for consideration for National appointments should also consider this camp.

The camp staff will include),Brigg Harvey (former OUA official), Tim Laurain (OABO Provincial Supervisor), Jaime McCaig (OABO President and former OUA official). Mike Falloon (NBL) has also been invited to attend. Plans are underway to invite at least one CABO National Evaluator from outside the Province as well.

Cost for the camp is $380. (The same as last year). This includes two night’s accommodation in the David C Smith House, Queen’s University. Accommodations include a two bedroom suite with a shared bathroom. The residence is ideally situated, about a 10 minute walk to the athletic complex. Free parking is included. The registration fee also covers acamp t-shirt, Fox 40 whistle, nightly social and a video review of each game.

The registration fee if you do not require accommodation is $300.

If a local board would like to reserve a spot for a prospective official they may contact me now to guarantee the spot and provide the official’s name later in the spring. I will also bill the local board in the spring.

Applicants will not be registered untiltheir camp fees have been received, or their local board has notified me that they are guaranteeing payment. Once payment is received/guaranteed successful applicants will be notified by e-mail.

Enrolmentwill be limited to a maximum of 30 officials. I expect the camp to fill quickly.

Cancellation fee after registration prior to April 30 2018 $50, $100 after April 30.
