Please note: This information is a guideline, and has been compiled from info to hand,
please do your own checks.
NZ Requirements (for NZ Residents)
Before you go…
You need to go to your local Police Station (where they have a Firearms Officer – some of the smaller stations don’t).
You need a POL67B form (Application to Import Firearms/Restricted Weapons/parts).
Fill it out, sign and hand back to the station, they will send you out an original copy (allow 7 – 10 working days) that you must take with you.
When you have landed back into NZ, collect your luggage & firearm, you must go to the NZ Police counter, hand in you form and they will check your firearm and stamp & sign the form.
If you do not do this, you will not be able to bring your firearm back into the country. NZ Police are getting strict with this.
You also need to fill out a MFAT form (Notification of exempted sporting firearms export) & email it to: .
You will also need to download the Invitation to Compete letter from the ACTA to send with your documentation below:
https://www.claytarget.com.au/documents/miscellaneous/4931-invite-to-international-competitors-for-world-dtl-2018.html
You must make sure you write the correct serial numbers etc on all the paperwork.
Please be aware if you fly into 1 state (eg Victoria - Melbourne) and fly out of another state (eg NSW - Sydney) you will still need a permit for the state you are flying out of.
