Sponsorship

OWASP chapter meeting can be supported by sponsors.

VISA is one of the current sponsors of OWASP.

Sponsor will provide support for the OWASP meetings.

How does it work?

A monthly [or different frequency] meeting will be held at the facility of the sponsor or in a different place arranged by the sponsor.

These meetings will be advertised nationally, and be open to members and prospective members.

There is an additional option to provide drinks and food.

Interested individuals will be able to enrol at these meetings

Leaders are responsible in taking notes and reporting activities of the chapter on the main OWASP website, listing the venue, time, subjects covered and acknowledgements.

How [sponsor name] could benefit from being a sponsor of [OWASP chapter name]?

1) [Sponsor name] can be shown to be supporting a new nationwide initiative (web security) which could be included within the re-launch, and is tangibly assisting both government and industry.

2) [Sponsor name] will be perceived as being fully committed to information security in support of the vision [extract a key sentence from the vision’s company that is relative to security]

3) A national press-release will follow after sponsorships have been confirmed (only if this condition applies).

4) [Sponsor name] would be mentioned in the OWASP web site. Having the company name visible worldwide supporting security is an effective and comparatively inexpensive way of advertising

Please note that:

OWASP is not a commercial organization – the setting up and running of an OWASP chapter is by individuals rather than corporate employees. It is a requirement of OWASP that chapters are not used as commercial vehicles. This does not prevent organisations from providing sponsorship and support of the chapter and receiving recognition for it, but it is expected that this will be carefully managed. Vendors may join the meeting but cannot perform any type of business within the meetings.
