Outcome 1: Critical Thinking Program assessment of students on entry to the program and on completion of the program / MeasurableCriteria / Measurement

Students will question, search for answers and understanding, evaluate ideas and information, and
develop and support meaningful conclusions by exhibiting one or more of the following outcomes:
1. Creates, integrates, and evaluates ideas, concepts, and/or information across a range of contexts, cultures, and/or areas of knowledge.
2. Analyzes and evaluates problems and/or solves problems using multiple processes.
3. Examines attitudes, values, and assumptions and assesses their implications in a variety of contexts.
4. Integrates experience, reason, and evidence to make meaningful conclusions, judgments, and/or products.
5. Justifies key results and procedures, explains assumptions and reasons / Identify the number of students who achieve a level 2 on the ATI Critical Thinking proctored exam on entry.
Identify the number of student who showed improvement in their critical thinking skills at completion of the nursing program. (Student moved up one level of achievement from entry to program exit.) / Analyze data from Assessment Technology Institute (ATI) Critical thinking exam at entry and exit for all graduating students during 2011. / 2011-2012

2. Demonstrates an awareness of how dominant group privilege leads to institutional oppression and/or impacts a marginal group’s development.
3. Shows respectful consideration of the values, beliefs, and practices of others, and knows how to resolve ethnocentric attitudes.
