Please ensure you keep us informed of any changes to the home/work/mobile contact details including parents, carers and other emergency contacts for your child. It is vital that we are able to contact you if your child is unwell, injured or if there is an emergency.
2 Year Old funding – new qualifying criteria
Parents/carers who receive any of the following are entitled to funding for 2 year olds:
- Income Support (IS)
- Employment Support Allowance (Income Related) - not Contribution related
- Income-based Job Seekers Allowance (IBJSA) - not Contribution based
- Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit.
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Child Tax Credit with an annual taxable income (as assessed by HMRC) of less than £16,190
- Working Tax Credit with an annual taxable income (as assessed by HMRC) of less than £16,190
- Children who are 2 who attract Disability Living Allowance
- Children who are 2 and have been adopted, or who have left care through special guardianship or residence orders.
- Children who are 2 and have a Statement of Special Educational Needs.
NunneyPre-school is registered for and has places available for funded 2 year olds. If you think you may qualify, forms are available at Pre-school or you could visit the Somerset County Council website to apply -
Toddler Group – Monday mornings.
Our new Baby & Toddler group is proving popular but we are always pleased to welcome new families. Please let your friends and family know about this group and come along for some fun and . It runs from 8.45am – 11.30am but you are welcome to arrive at a time to suit you. This week our activities included hand & foot print painting. There are plans to hold morestructured craft activities and music sessions along with the usual free choice of play. A small snack and drinks are provided for the children and refreshments for the grown-ups. The fee structure has changed slightly, we now charge £2.00 per family unless the family group consists of adult and one baby only and then the charge is £1.00.

Fees review.
Pre-school fees are reviewed by the committee each year. To help meet rising costs it has been agreed that fees will increase from £3.80 to £4.00 per hour with effect from 1 January 2015.
Pre-school Logo design competition.
We recently invited NunneyFirstSchool children to enter a competition to design a new logo for Pre-school with a Castle theme. We had fantastic entries and the winning design you can see at the top of the newsletter was created by Freddie Bethell. Freddie’s prize was a book token donated by Hunting Raven Books in Frome. We thank everyone involved for organising the competition, entering and for the prize donation. We will be using the new logo design in our new Pre-school information leaflets and advertising.
Fundraising stall at NunneyFirstSchool Fayre – Friday 5 December.
Committee members are holding a fundraising stall at the school Fayre. Please come along and support us and School with this vital fundraiser. If you are able to offer help on the stall, please let Debbie know or speak to a committee member. You can also show your support by coming along on the day to enjoy the stalls with your family.
Christmas Play – Thursday 11 December 1.30pm
Due to low numbers of children at the moment, we have been invited to join the children at NunneyFirstSchool for their Christmas Play production. This will be held at 1.30pm and 6.00pm on 11/12/14. Pre-school children will be joining the afternoon production only. The children will be dressed as mice and their outfits have already been organised. Please speak to Debbie for further details.
Christmas dinner at NunneyFirstSchool – Tuesday 16 December.
We will be joining School for a Christmas dinner at lunch time. Hot dinners can be ordered through the school. If your child has a packed lunch, please provide a festive lunch for them to enjoy.
Christmas party at NunneyFirstSchool – Thursday 18 December.
The school is holding their Christmas party from lunch time and has invited us to join them. There will be festive games and a magician. If this is not your usual day and you would like your child to attend, please speak to Debbie about booking the session or come along with your child.
Pre-school Christmas Party – Friday 19 December
On the last day of term, we will be holding our own Christmas party. All children are invited to attend, even if it’s not their usual session. We will also be inviting the Baby & Toddler group families to attend. Please bring a small plate of party food to share; a list will go up on the door. We will be holding a fundraising raffle and would be grateful for any prize donations you could make e.g. bottles, chocolates, unused gifts etc. There will be a fun fancy dress competition where you can dress up your child with a prize for the best dressed. As usual Father Christmas will be visiting and The Frome Standard photographer has been invited to get snaps of the wonderful outfits.
