BUCS/NSRA SMALL-BORE RIFLE SHOOTING

UNIVERSITY TEAM KNOCKOUT COMPETITION 2008/09

University Clubs affiliated to NSRA are invited to submit entries for the 2008/2009 Winter Knockout Competition using the attached entry form.

CONDITIONS

  • Unless otherwise stated this competition will be conducted in accordance with current NSRA Rules and Regulations.
  • Teams - teams will consist of four competitors, all of whom must be student members of University or College small-bore rifle clubs affiliated to the NSRA, or students who are individual members of the NSRA.
  • Clubs may enter any number of teams, subject to the following:-

a)Shooters may not be transferred from one team to another after they have shot.

b)Reserves may be included, provided that they have not shot for any other team in the same competition in the current season.

c)When a team is beaten the personnel of that team may not shoot again in the competition.

  • Course of fire - 20 shots each round, 10 each at 15, 20 or 25 yards or 25 metres at two proportional NSRA 1989 pattern British Match targets. Competition stickers will be issued which must be affixed to the front of the targets by a club official prior to shooting. All members of a team must shoot on the same range.
  • Witnessing - shot cards must be signed by the competitor after shooting and witnessed and dated by an authorised witness in accordance with NSRArules 7.5 and 7.6.
  • Byes - if the number of teams entered demands that there are byes, these will be cleared in an early round.
  • Return of shot cards - these must be received by the appointed scorer not later than the Saturday following the last date for shooting that round.
  • Awards - the winningteam will hold the British Universities Small-bore Rifle Knockout Cup for one year. In addition the winners and runners-up will receive NSRA gold and silver plaquettes. If the size of entry warrants, the two losing semi-finalists will receive NSRA bronze plaquettes.
  • Entries - the entry fee of £7.00 for each team is to be sent, together with the completed entry form, to the NSRA at the address below.
  • Closing date for entries - entries must be received by first post on 27 October 2008
