NPS FETE Newsletter No.2

Thank you everyone for all your positive feedback in relation to this years fete. We are starting to see the buzz around the school and know we are getting closer. Also a special thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets at this weeks school picnic. We have already raised just over $300 and the fete gates haven’t even opened. So thank you again. In this weeks fete newsletter we are focusing on our major fundraising stalls and how you can help the school and we can help you also.

Poster Competition

Get ready kids, the Northcote Primary School Poster Competition is due to open Monday 15thFebruary.

Notes will be sent home explaining how your kids can enter and what it involves.

Posters are located at the office and kids wanting to enter the competition take a poster and try to find the most creative place that can potentially reach the most people to stick their poster. Parents then need to take a photo of the poster in it’s location and post it on our instagram page or email to

We only have 100 posters so please only take a poster if you intend on entering the competition. The winner will be announced in our final newsletter on Thursday 3rd March.

This is a great way to get information out in the community about the school fete and hopefully a lot of fun at the same time. Let’s see how many new and creative way the kids can come up with this year!

Prepaid Wristband Sales

This year we will be using try-booking again for the online purchasing of wristbands. Notes will be sent home with all kids on Friday and a link emailed through for ticket purchases. If you don’t have access for online ticketing you can still pre buy wristbands at the school office. Please check dates on Ticket information sheet as there are definite cut off dates and tickets bought on the day are more expensive.

Fundraising stalls

How you can help us and we can help your business

Each year we ask families, friends and businesses from our local community to donate items that can be auctioned off to raise funds. We hold 3 different types of auctions through the fete period. An online auction starting a week before the fete, a silent auction throughout the day and a loud auction up on the big stage at 1:00pm by our major Sponsor Ray White Real Estate Agents.

We are desperately seeking some more donations.

The kind of items that can be donated are;

  • Holiday houses;for a weekend ora week (you can stipulate dates, guests numbers etc)
  • Signed momento’s by famous Sportsman, Clubs, Author’s, Musician’s etc
  • Services;

HaircutsAccounting and finance services

Music lessonsSports lessons

Healing / medical servicesHandyman and labourer services

Real Estate agency services etc

  • New Items;

Please think about all the family and friends you know who could assist in donations and the skills you yourself have that could be auctioned off. Even the smallest things can help in a massive way.

Many people are afraid to ask fearing a No, but you can be surprised at the generosity of business and family when it comes to supporting your child’s school. The Fete Committee donation request letter we can provide if required.

Now, as to how we can help you, your friend or local business owner as a donator.

Your contribution will be promoted in our weekly fete newsletter, on facebook if you like, advertised at the auction stall on fete day and you can include business cards and your own promo brochure if you wish to be displayed with your product.

If you are interested in donating or have a questions please contact Karen Surridge 0418 594 894 or by email on or alternatively the fete committee at . Any physical donations or vouchers can be made to the office.
