THE NATIONAL PLANT BOARD

The United States is under a constant threat from the introduction of plant pests and invasive plant species. The well being of our nation depends upon a healthy and abundant supply of food, fiber, timber and plant resources. The National Plant Board of the United States, through a system of regional plant boards, is an organization of plant regulatory agencies that works to meet these public needs.

Mission Statement

The National Plant Board provides leadership in plant protection and certification, pest prevention and management, while striving to harmonize efforts to protect American agriculture, forestry, horticulture and the environment from harmful organisms. We work to ensure a healthy and abundant source of food and fiber, and an economically viable agricultural industry while practicing stewardship. This is accomplished through collaboration with our members, federal and state agencies, industry, organizations and the public.

The National Plant Board works to protect the environment from the introduction of plant pests and enhance plant health while facilitating domestic and international trade. Through consensus we focus our resources to accomplish our mission.
