Now that the Brexit negotiations are underway, Enterprise Ireland is encouraging companies to be pro-active in their preparations and are running a series of Brexit Advisory Clinics to support companies to do this.

The core objective of the Advisory Clinic is to provide support to companies in taking immediate action to address exposure to Brexit by strengthening capability in 3 particular business areas:

  • Financial and Currency Management

Managing a volatile exchange rate and best practice for financial management for SMEs in uncertain times.

  • Sourcing

Reviewing sourcing arrangements to identify alternative, more efficient solutions and reducing costs with better supplier management.

  • Transport and Logistics

What new procedures for imports and exports with the UK might look like (customs declarations and administration etc.) if transport and logistics arrangements are affected by Brexit.

This free event will involve 2 streams of activities running in parallel throughout the day:

-One to one 40-minute meetings with independent experts in the 3 business areas.

-90-minute seminars on each of the 3 business areas

Pre-Booked 1:1 meetings with independent experts. These 40-minute meetings will provide you with an opportunity to discuss your capabilities in the 3 following areas and how you might improve them in light of Brexit:

3) Transport & Logistics
These meetings should be attended by the CEO, CFO or other relevant member of the senior management team and must be pre-booked.
You can request a maximum of 2 of the 3 topics available. Meetings requested will strictly be allocated on a first come first served basis. / Lead by Moira Creedon, Author and finance faculty at several universities including IMI and Ryan Academy; financial consultant with significant experience supporting SMEs.
Using a case study, Moira will address the need for strong currency and financial management in light of Brexit, and what immediate actions you can take.

11:30 - 13:00 Strategic Sourcing
Lead by Martina Doyle, Strategic procurement professional with over 25 years’ experience in B2B and B2C across multiple industries.
Martina will address the need to review sourcing arrangements in light of Brexit and how best to select and optimise your relationship with suppliers.
Martina will be joined by an Enterprise Ireland client who will talk about how their sourcing and supplier management operations.

14:00 – 17:15 1:1 Meetings

Lead by Donna Hemphill, Senior manager for Customs and Global Trade at Deloitte Ireland, Belfast.
Donna will discuss the implications of Brexit on your transport and logistic arrangements including the potential added administrative procedures around customs.
Donna will be joined by an Enterprise Ireland client who will talk about transport and other logistic complications when importing from and exporting to 3rd countries.

A member of the Brexit Unit team will also be available at all times for any other queries you would like to raise.
