LADIES ROAD AND CROSS COUNTRY

FEBRUARY 2015 NEWSLETTER

North Midlands XC – Wollaton Park – 10.1.2015

Runners who attended the North Midlands cross country at Wollaton Hall were greeted by a tough course - not to mention the almighty wind- an extra element to contend with en route. Three gruelling laps of the steep sharp hill up to the side of the hall were a mental challenge but one which made completing the course all the more rewarding. Though this was by no means a course to set a PB - the senior women's team did well coming in the top half of the results.

Midlands XC – Wollaton Park – 24.1.2015

Mick had created a fantastic course for this Midland Counties fixture, including plenty of mud close to ‘Trev’s Gate’, hills, twists and turns! Members of our Under 17 and Under 20 squad raced together, although their results counted separately. Not many of our squad were available for the fixture, those that did enjoyed the challenge. Thanks to those who came along and supported the ladies and those who marshalled.

With the winter fast passing, we will be moving onto our road relay season. Last year the Notts AC ladies set a club record in the Midlands six stage. This year ladies, there is no reason why another club record cannot be set. Continue with the training and hardwork, believe and you will achieve.

“Dear Mick & Notts AC, At last I have managed to get to the computer to send you my most sincere congratulations on yet another brilliantly run major championships. It is no mean feat to put on – year in & year out, first class arrangements which take a lot of time in organising prior to the day – probably starting a year ago unbeknown to most folks who just turn up on the day!
