Nottingham West Little People’s Credit Union
Remember when you were young and you saw your bank account grow with each birthday/holiday gift deposit? Well, that is exactly what the partnership between Nottingham West and St. Mary’s Bank had in mind when the Little People’s Credit Union was established.
Once again, this year the program is organized by Mrs. Searles-Allen’s second grade classroom. This program makes saving money fun and rewarding. We encourage children to invest his/her pocket change, gift money and any other cash received and benefit from earning interest on their savings. The children in this second grade classroom get excited when their assigned classrooms’ bank bags are filled with change. The students have gained such useful everyday money skills. They have strengthened their money counting skills. They work hard at double checking all deposit slips and filling out new ones for the bankers. They also, have the responsibility of delivering the bank bags each week to classrooms throughout the school. This endeavor helps build social skills and courtesy.
We invite you to sign your child up for this wonderful program and begin saving. The bank bags and deposit slips will be sent home on Tuesday and the Savings Day is Friday when all money will be collected and sent to St. Mary’s.
If you are interested in being part of this program and setting up an account please fill in the bottom portion of this letter and return it to your child’s teacher no later than Friday, January 16th
