Notice of Proposed Variation of Kildare CountyDevelopment Plan 2011-2017 (Variation No. 1) to incorporate the following SmallTown Plans:

Kill, Prosperous, Rathangan, Athgarvan, Derrinturn, Castledermot into the CountyDevelopment Plan 2011-2017.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning & Development Acts 2000-2011 that, at its meeting on 30th January 2012, Kildare County Council agreed to initiate a Variation of the Kildare County Development Plan 2011-2017 to incorporate the following Small Town Plans: Kill, Prosperous, Rathangan, Athgarvan, Derrinturn and Castledermot.

The Variation hasbeen prepared to ensure that the objectives of the Six Small Town Plans are consistent with the Core Strategy of the County Development Plan 2011-2017.

Kildare County Council has concluded, following screening for Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) in accordance with Article 13K of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 - 2011 and Appropriate Assessment (AA) screening under Article 6(3) of the Habitats Directive, that further SEA and AA of the proposed Variation is not necessary. A copy of the decisions from the screenings for SEA and AA are available for inspection with the proposed Variation.

A Draft Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) for each of the small towns has also been prepared and is available for inspection with the proposed Variation.

Details of the proposed variation, the SEA Screening Decision, the AA Screening Statement and SFRA may be inspected for a period of 4 weeks from Thursday 9th February 2012 to Friday 9thMarch 2012 at the following locations:

  • Kildare County Council Offices from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays:

- Áras Chill Dara, Naas, Co. Kildare from 9am to 4pm

- Northern Area Office, Leinster St., Maynooth from 9am -1pm & 2pm - 5pm

- Southern Area Office, Rathstewart, Athy from 9am - 1pm & 2pm - 5pm

- Clane Area Office, The Woods, Clane from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm

  • The following public libraries during their usual opening hours: Athy, Ballitore, Castledermot, Celbridge, Clane, Clocha Rince, Kilcock, Kilcullen, Kildare, Leixlip, Maynooth, Monasterevin, Naas, Newbridge & Rathangan
