RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP NOMINATIONS 2015/2016

  1. Applicants should fill in sections 1 – 5, attach a summary CV (1 x A4 page) and pass to the Head of Department/School for completion of section 6. The original form and CV, and 6 photocopies of these, should then be forwarded to the Dean who, with the assistance of the Faculty Research Director, will coordinate and rank the applications. Deans should note that the maximum number of applications that can be submitted to the IAS is 10 per Faculty.

  1. A detailed report on the outcomes of the fellowship should be submitted to the Director, no later than 1st December 2016.

Regulations

These Fellowships are open to current members of staff and enable the Fellows appointed to dedicate themselves fully to research for a period of 12 months for University Research Fellowships (URFs), and 6 months for IAS Research Fellowships (IASRFs) and Translational Neuroscience Research Fellowships (TNRFs). The awards (£10K for URFs; £5K for IASRFs and TNRFs) are paid to the Department/School to cover the cost of replacement teaching/assessment.

Proposals should consist of a statement by the candidate on the research they will undertake and the expected outputs from the Fellowship. Proposals must be accompanied by a Statement of Support from the Head of Department/School. A summary CV (1 x A4 page) should also accompany the application. Fellows are required to produce a detailed report of their activity at the end of the year.

Responsibilities of the Department:The department agrees to release the Fellow from his or her teaching, assessment and clinical responsibilities during the Fellowship.

Responsibilities of the Fellow:The Fellow will concentrate his or her activity on research, implement the research plans set out in their proposal andsubmit a detailed end-of-year report to the Director of the IAS.
