ORIENTATION CO-CHAIRAPPLICATION2018

The Orientation Student Co-Chairperson will be selected in December 2017-January 2018. The successful candidate will begin work in January 2018and develop the Orientation program along with the Campus Life Coordinator (CLC). These duties include attending conferences and organizational meetings before the summer, co-chairing the Victoria College Orientation Steering Committee, the selection of an Executive Committee and the selection of Orientation Leaders. Following the end of the school year, the Student Chairperson is responsible, with the Executive Committee, for developing and implementing the Orientation Program throughout the summer. They are expected to be present and accessible on campus on a daily basis for all Orientation planning purposes, inquiries, meetings, etc. The student co-chair, working in conjunction with the CLC,is responsible for overseeing the planning and organization of all Orientation Week activities at Victoria College.

REMUNERATION: During the summer months (May through August), the Student Co-Chairperson is provided an honorarium of $8000. They are expected to hold regular office hours in the Orientation Co-chair Office, facilitate meetings and planning throughout the summer. This is a full-time summer opportunity and is expected to be the sole and primary commitment of the student beyond academics.

Applications will be accepted from any individual who has completed at least one year of university at the time of application. While there are many factors for being a successful co-chair, experience in student engagement positionsand Orientation activitieswould be considered strong assets.
