Notes from Paula's Desk
LITE TIMES
Where has the time gone? Summer is over, school is back in session, and vacations are over. Back to basics. I hope everyone had a real good summer.
At this time I am happy to announce that we have two new area captains. On August 1, 2007 Maureen Nunez from chapter 154, Rio Rancho joined our field staff. We are very happy to have her. She will have the Northwestern part of the State. We have Patricia Rael from 104 Las Alamos with the Northeastern part of the state. And on September 1, 2007 Bernadette Bierner from 288, Silver City joined us. She will have the Southwest part of the state. Very happy to have her also. We now have a good working crew. Please, remember to compensate Area Captain for her travel when she visits your chapter.
If you did not attend the Fun Day in Alamogordo, you missed a good time. I think it was well received and our hostess chapter 99, Alamogordo did a great job. Thank you. We had members from 10 chapters, 35 attendees. Local chapter #44, Alamogordo had a very good showing. All members were present!
We had a KOPS HONOR SOCIETY meeting, elected new officers and changed some of our by-laws. We are planning a great get together for all the KOPS in New Mexico at our SRD in Las Cruces next May. More on this later.
We also had an SRD meeting. Everything is going along fine. Everyone that has been asked to help has agreed. I am very pleased. Letter with registrations will be coming out in November, with a deadline of April 15, 2008. So start planning your fundraisers. Remember the competitive events are: Posters, Name Tag, Magnets, Table Decorations and Skits. We will have chapter dress alike on Friday afternoon during chapter recognition. But it is not competitive.
All members that are on the Internet, please go to our website. ( It has been updated. We have a calendar of coming events, newsletters from all field staff are posted, any state forms you need, will be there. We have a message loop and just all kinds of good things. Check all the links. Our Royalty is there, past Royalty for 2004 and 2005 are there.
Also go to the TOPS site. On the welcome page upper right hand corner is a round green circle. Click on that and watch the video that will be aired nationally.
