Northville Rotary Honors Award Winners and Changes Leadership
The Northville Rotary Club held its annual changeover meeting to announce award winners and install new officers on June 30th at the home of Chas and Sue Owens, 59 South Shore Road, Northville.
First, Northville Central School Scholarship Award winners Taryn Sedon, daughter of Sue and Carl Sedon; Sarah Sleezer, daughter of Michelle and Delos Abrams and Larry Sleezer; Angel Warner, daughter of Misty Syzdek-Stever and Earl Warner, Sr.; and Keegan Enders, son of Shannon and Chet Enders each received a check for $1,000 to further their educations. They received the award from their previous Elementary Principal and Rotarian, Barbara Sperry.
Next, framed certificates and gifts were given to Ken Adamczyk, Northville Rotary"Rookie of the Year" for all his first year of membership work on the very successful first annual Craft Beer Tasting Event; to Janet Meuwissen, "Community Member of the Year"for her work with the Community Collaboration Council, an organization that enhances community improvement through organizations and individuals working together;and to Sue Owens, "Rotarian of the Year", for her years of as club Secretary and Woodworking Show Coordinator.
Finally, the club's outgoing Board of Directors members-Adam Reimers, Jeff Meuwissen, Helen Frey--were thanked and the 2016-17 Board--President, Leslie Ford; Secretary, Sue Owens; Treasurer, Ken Adamczyk; President-Elect, Vicki Mullaney; Past President, Jim Casey; Directors-at-Large, Paul Huebner and Dan Casey; Sergeant-at-Arms, Bob Smith--were inducted by District 7190 Assistant GovernorMaria Heise. 2015-16 President Adam Reimers who is moving to Pennsylvania was thanked for his service and given best wishes by the club. He was also presented with a Paul Harris Award which is the highest award a Rotarian can receive. Adam then passed the gavel and meeting bell toincoming President, Dr. Leslie Ford.
