The Northfork Choir Camp is a new event that will take place at the beautiful Swanson Environmental Center in the Northfork Park area of the Ogden Valley. The WeberSchool District maintains a spacious lodge and several acres of forest north of the Nordic Valley Ski Resort and just south of the Northfork Campground. It is in this setting that we are able to provide a unique and enriching experience for singers.

The camp lasts four days, June 18th-21st, 2012 (Monday - Thursday). Students remain at the camp during this time. Many activities are scheduled to keep the students busy from the time they get up in the morning until they go to sleep at night. Students are involved in sectional rehearsals, full choral practices, musical workshops, vocal health sessions, musical games, instructional media, performances by guest artists, hikes, volleyball, swimming and more. We feel that the variety of musical experience is the strong point of this camp.

Students will receive concentrated and specialized instruction from a staff of experienced teachers. These teachers, along with a staff of other vocal specialists and guests will ensure a rich musical experience for each student.

The cost for the camp is $150. Meals, transportation to the camp, instruction, and materials, such as music, swimming and a chior camp T-shirt are provided with the tuition fee. Students may reserve a place at the camp by paying a $50 deposit now. There is room for at least six boys and six girls from each jr. high school in the district, so it would be wise to act quickly before these spots are filled. Full payment will be due by May 1, 2011. $50 of the full amount is non- refundable after May 1, 2010. Students who attend the camp must have good citizenship, be cooperative and willing to obey the camp rules. They must also have a "B" average grade in choir for the year. Each student must be able to receive a positive recommendation from his or her choral director (signature on the application form).
