NorthernPaws Best Show dog contest
Rules and Point system :
Eligible dogs : all the dogs and bitches bred by NorthernPaws, owned or co-owned by NorthernPaws from 3 months of age competing in conformation shows held under CKC, AKC or FCI rules.
Contest period : Every calendar year start of January 1 and end December 31
Every year will be announced 3 top NorthernPaws show dogs for each breed Mastiffs and Bernese Mountain Dogs. Name of the 1st dog from each breed will be put on the NorthernPaws Cup and all 3 top dogs from each breed receive diploma and keeper trophy
Breed level...point system
Point system is very simple. 1 point for every dog defeated directly or indirectly including your dog.
Absent, disqualified or excused dogs do not count!
Example : 1-0-0-0….you are only one dog on the breed level. You always get 1 point, unless your dog will be disqualify or excused.
Baby puppies can compete as well but only with another baby puppies. Dog or Bitch 6 months and older wont count points for baby puppies as a defeated dogs.
Group level…additional points
No matter how many different breeds will be in the group here is steady points schedule for any group placement.
Group 4….1pt. Puppy group 1…3pt
Group 3…2pt. Baby puppy group1….2pt
Group 2…3pt
Group 1…4 pt
Best in show additional points
Best in show….5pt
Best Puppy in Show….3pt

This is just example how to gain points. As we everybody know not too many mastiffs are showing all together and is very hard to get group placement on the mastiff. Even with the smaller amount of competing Mastiffs will be very challenging and standing will be moving. Even young dogs or baby puppies can end up on top.
