CONDUCT AND DRESS
All students attending the Northern California Band Association All-Northern Honor Band are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible manner at all times. In order to make this a worthwhile and rewarding experience for all students and directors involved, the following items are suggested for you to follow. Infraction of these rules may necessitate your removal from the honor band. If this becomes necessary, your parents will be notified and they will be responsible for immediate transportation home. In the event contact cannot be made with your parents, you will be removed from the rehearsal and placed under supervision and sent home at the first opportunity. Parents will assume all financial responsibility related to housing and transportation home.
REMEMBER THAT PEOPLE WILL JUDGE YOU, YOUR SCHOOL, BAND AND DIRECTOR BY THE MANNER IN WHICH YOU CONDUCT YOURSELF.
Remember:
1. Dress neatly and appropriately for the occasion.
2. Show respect and courtesy to others at all times.
3. Respect the property of others.
4. Take pride in your accomplishment and continuing a tradition of outstanding accomplishment for NCBA, and the All-Northern Honor Band.
5. Be reasonable in your conduct.
6. Share the experiences and knowledge you gain with other individuals.
7. Observe whatever curfew has been established.
8. Do not use electronic devices such as cell phones, ipads, PDA’s etc. during rehearsal.
9. No smoking, no alcoholic beverages, or illegal substances permitted at any time.
10. BE ON TIME FOR ALL FUNCTIONS AND REHEARSALS!
11. STUDENTS ARE TO REMAIN IN THE IMMEDIATE REHEARSAL AREA.
Concert Dress
· Gentlemen: Formal concert attire or shirt and tie, black if possible. (Black tux is preferred but not required)
· Ladies: Formal concert attire or long dress, black if possible.
The Board of Directors of NCBA understands that the above statements are not necessary for the majority of the students in the All-Northern Honor Band. However, to insure the enjoyment of this venture, we are asking everybody to observe the above guidelines.
I have read the above guidelines and understand what is expected of me during my relationship with the Northern California Band Association.
